Got one for myself last month and it's been a pretty good unit. No complaints so far.
I put together a 3/8" barb to 3/4" FHT adapter, 3/8" inner diameter braided tubing (doesn't have to be braided) and a tube clamp so I wouldn't need to screw a 3/4" garden hose directly to the drain connector on the back of the dehumidifier. See attached pic.

This might be a dumb question cause I think I might know the answer but why did you go through all that instead of just connecting a garden hose?

Here's my response from post #65 of this thread which I know is pretty buried at this point:
With some hoses there's not a female connector that turns independently of the entire hose when connecting to the dehumidifier. It can also keep the drain nozzle from being stressed during the hose connection process or when the dehumidifier is moved. I recently found that the connector built into a leaking $1,300 Aprilaire dehumidifier of mine had cracked because of it. The whole unit has to be replaced. Fortunately Aprilaire is willing to do so at no cost but it's been informative for me.
I believe the Danby deal is dead. Online, it's back up to normal price $170 or $180). Has anyone been to a warehouse to see if it's still on sale there?
I wouldn't order this off bestbuy.com, definitely get it in store so they can give you a replacement or store credit if it breaks. My insignia product broke, and they wanted me to pack and ship it back to best buy for warranty. That cost was higher then the product.
Agreed facts hurt why only me did helpful rest thumbs down. Facts,Science,Logic bad! lol
At my previous house, I had the dehumidifier in the basement (man cave TV room) and the hose went to a drain hole in the far corner.
At my current house, there is not basement because it's a single story 3-bedroom house. There are no drain holes on the floor. I've been trying to come up with a solution for that, instead of emptying the humidifier water bottle manually...
Thanks!
You can buy a condensate pump from Harbor Freight or elsewhere and connect it to the gravity drain. It will pump to wherever you need when the pump is full. Most condensate pumps have the ability to switch so that if the condensate reservoir level is maxed and the pump is broken, it can cut off the dehumidifier to prevent overflow, but it does take SOME electrical know how.
But at that point, the condensate pump is an additional ~50 dollars.
It was worth it to me because I already had a dehumidifier without one, and I needed to dehumidify our crawl space. But if I buy another, I may just buy one with a pump built in...

Danby sold out at my warehouse in Bloomingdale, IL. When I bought mine during the sale, I saw several others with 1 or 2 of them in their cart. Went back about a week after that and they are nowhere to be seen...
arrived vertical via UPS; packing box a bit mangled. will let sit for 24 hours before plugging in and turning on as it wasnt vertical the whole time during shipping

Refrigerator I understand, it cannot be knocked around but dehumidifiers?
