The duet chromebook? Isn't that thing like $200-$300 on its own?
Holy slickdeal .. how did u manage that?
They don't make them all on the same date. Most likely these are the left over stock before they switched over to xm4 (early 2020). Regardless, the batteries shouldn't degrade as long as they were stored in "normal" conditions.

Sony's XM3 are terrible for audio calls. Check reviews on YouTube..

Just FYI - BT5 does not alter the latency / audio lag on bluetooth. It increases range, reduces power and increases bitrate [soundsightheadphones.com]. In order to reduce the delay both the headset and the player need to have aptX. These headphones support aptX HD, according to the Qualcomm aptX website [aptx.com].
Note that if you're (not you personally; anyone) an iOS user, none of the Apple products support aptX, only AAC. I've heard that Samsung may have removed some or all of the aptX codecs from their phones a year or two ago (my last sammy had a real 1/8" plug so I didn't need it).
One final note on these - when they were release you had to be listening to audio content to activate the ANC. I don't know if this is still the case; my wife and DD have them for travelling and I made up a dummy 1/8" plug (plug with bonded ground and heatshrink over the contacts so it's just a nub/grip to put in or take out) so that they could activate the noise cancelling without having anything actively playing.

Not the ch710's but I've had ch700's before I moved to these. Consider them an improvement on every front ( better sound, hardware, way better nc).
However, my ch700 lasted me more than 3 years without issues (still work, only a slight issue with the band), the 1000xm3's started giving me grief due to a weird noise emanating from them. When the problem persisted even when I turned them off (weird static), I had to rma them back to sony.
Since this is really uncharacteristic of what I've otherwise read/heard about 1000XM3's (maybe I just had a bad unit), I am inclined to give them another shot ( receiving a new unit as we speak).
