Yes, that's how that usually works. Almost no company will send you a brand new device for warranty. Apple gives you a refurbished iPhone if yours dies after the return period.

How does fast movement look in greyish scenes? VA usually falls short and smears grey scenes if looking too fast.

I bought one of these on black friday for $330 also. I did not have it a long time but here is my personal take on it. Freesync would flicker, no fix even with firmware update. No dead pixels, Really nice stand if you don't plan to mount it. Great blacks and response time was fine even for games like Warzone etc. For the price I feel this is a decent deal overall. Follow a calibration guide online and you will enjoy the picture a lot more at least I did when I had it.
Do you have a link to what calibration guide you used? I couldn't really find a good one

Edit: nvm, I saw you respond to another post saying you don't remember.

Yeah it would work but kept getting the black screen. Couldn't take it any more. Sold it and just got the new lg 32in.

It looks pretty good. I've used the Odyssey G7 monitor before this one, and while I do think that monitor has slightly better colors, motion handling, and handles blacks better because of the less bleed, that's a $700 monitor lmao. I know it has a couple extra features as well, but my point being is I returned that and got this and I'd say it was like a 10-15% lesser image at most, and it's still better than most monitors, even ones more expensive. Also, had a really big glitch with the G7 with switching between modes like SDR to HDR or to use GSync. The monitor would turn off but still show as on, and this was only fixed by unplugging and plugging the monitor back in after a minute or two so it could reset. While I'm sure there are duds, my Dell monitor has worked perfectly and my only complaint is minor bleed that developed after about a year (but is still much less than most other monitors I've owned have had)

What's the better company you went with?
I went with the Samsung Odyssey G5 27" when it was on sale for $249 (I ended up getting it for $219 open box). There was an issue with the headphone jack and Samsung promptly replaced the monitor. I know it's not 32" like this one but Dell just left a sour taste in my mouth.

I also bought a Acer VG270U 2k with only a 75hz refresh rate that works better than the Dell I have.

I know the Samsung monitor was replaced under warranty but I've had no issues with them replacing phones, and earbuds that were at or a little past warranty period.

Thoughts on this vs the 32" curved Samsung at Costco for a work monitor?

It is, they came out with an updated version, the S3222DGM. Some extra features from a quick look at the specs. Might be worth it for just an extra $25 bucks

So the new model only has DP 1.2 instead of 1.4 like this one? Strange Dell would go backwards...🤷 ♂️

It's a downgrade in displayport, 1.2 vs 1.4 which is required for 1440p165 with hdr
