Yes, that's how that usually works. Almost no company will send you a brand new device for warranty. Apple gives you a refurbished iPhone if yours dies after the return period.

You're actually lucky because I had a Dell D2719HGF that died a week after the 1 year warranty and Dell refused to replace it. In my case it was the DP that died and now I have to use a DP to HDMI adapter. I ended up using it as a work monitor and went with a better company.
Check the credit card paid for it. Some credit cards give extra warranty

It is, they came out with an updated version, the S3222DGM. Some extra features from a quick look at the specs. Might be worth it for just an extra $25 bucks

It also takes some loses compared to the S3220DGF though.

350 nits vs 400 nits
DP 1.2 vs 1.4
No HDR vs HDR ( although at 400 nits it's not that big of a deal)
No USB hub vs 4 port USB 3 hub

The only things I see in it's favor are slightly better response time and the down light.

G-sync will not work with this monitor.
Not true. I have had this monitor almost 1.5 years and once I upgraded from a GTX 970 to the RTX 3060 TI G-Sync worked immediately and flawlessly. You could have gotten a bad panel, had incorrect settings, an issue with the GPU or had an incompatible cable.

I just pulled the trigger on adding a second one to replace my old 24" HP 1200p monitor. It's gonna be great having a matching pair now for working from home and content creation. Thanks OP, I had been waiting for this to get back down to ≤$350.

I wish it had speakers
It has a headphone port. You can buy some Bluetooth speakers that have the 3.5mm jack and it works better than monitor speakers. This is the only way I can get sound out of my PS4.

Dell do not make panels. Why not just get from LG or Samsung?

Picked this up a few weeks ago when it was $350. Chase 10% up to $35 credit was nice and super easy to use.

The monitor is awesome, with a few quirks. Dell ships the monitor with a 1.2DP cable but 165hz is still useable. I haven't bothered ordering a 1.4dp cable since my setup is older and can't really hit more than 100 fps on most games anyways.

The HDR is insanely bright. I really don't use it unless I'm watching a show. I still have to mess with the brightness on my you to be able to watch in a dark room.

Maybe it's a setting, but I get crazy ghosting in COD, but in none of the other games I've played.

Thoughts on this vs the 32" curved Samsung at Costco for a work monitor?

https://www.costco.com/samsung-32...12595.html [costco.com]
If you're just using it for work the Samsung would probably be quite a bit better because of the 4k resolution, text will be a lot sharper than it is at 1440p at 32 inches screen size.

Same here and I love this monitor, all the extra USB ports, excellent color calibration, better than expected HDR.

Neither, get a 4k one or another 1440p with a lower refresh rate (60,75hz) for much cheaper.

Gaming monitors are more expensive.

There was an LG 4k on here recently.

Higher refresh rates don't always only translate to gaming. So many phones nowadays has more than 60hzf for significant reason. To make the workflow and ux a lot smoother.

This monitor is a really good multipurpose monitor including gaming, content consumption, content creation and working, all which benefit from higher refresh rate with the exception of one.

Look at his original post. None of what you said applies.

I don't care to have 165hz refresh rate in excel, I'd rather have sharper text in 4k resolution.
