It warms and maintains the temp of the water bath to the exact temp you want your meat to be until the whole piece of meat can reach that temp.

Do you like your steak a little pink in the middle? How about the whole steak being cooked like that edge to edge? You can't really overcook things unless you leave them for hours longer than needed (then the proteins start breaking down). You can safely undercook things as well (pasteurization).

I use mine mostly for steak, thick pork chops, and chicken thighs. Perfectly cooked and juicy every time. Set it and forget it. I tend to buy food in bulk on sale then preseason and vacseal them in the right portions so I can throw it straight from the freezer into the water bath.

If you don't have a vacuum sealer plan on buying one. You can do it without but it's a hassle.

Don't bother with the strawberry filled croissants. Buy a jar of the Bonne Maman jam, a pack of regular croissants, and apply your own powdered sugar. The combo is infinitely superior and the jar of jam holds a ridiculous number of servings.

Do NOT buy the LG fridges. They are beautiful but when I purchased one they told me LG is 2 to 3 months behind on shipping due to part shortage. I had to cancel my order. Luckily I might of dodged a bullet because I hear LG has major problems with the compressor in their fridges. Something about a plastic piece inside that almost always fails.

Anyways, I ended up buying a GE profile fridge. Very comparable size wize to the LG but slightly more expensive. However, the stock is good and quality is good. Highly recommend!
The "upgraded" appliances in our new build community were LG. Once they break, it's one expensive band-aid after another to repair. Also, GE icemakers are notoriously unreliable, but the rest of their fridge is great. I worked for GE and got a great break on the price but went through a few and the ice makers are the weak link there.

Consider Kitchen Aide or Frigidaire if you want a long-lasting, reliable refrigerator unit that won't let you down.

Nope. He cooked it like you're saying. And nothing insecure about preferring to cook a steak over the grill instead of boiled in a bag. I'll be eating in 10 minutes as opposed to your 1 hour. If you're so busy you have to boil your steak, well, sorry about that.
Lmao I doubt he did, because if he did and finished with a good sear its cooked perfectly through.

If you love steaks, don't buy this. Nothing worse than a "boiled" steak. A friend of mine has one and although i will eat the steak, it's nothing like being grilled or even pan fried. Grow a pair and cook it the right way.
You're not supposed to sous vide the steak to the proper temperature, but probably 20 degrees below. Then remove the steak throw it on the grill or in a pan and cook it the rest of the way. Goes for most any other sous vide meat

LG TVs - great
LG appliances - godawful

I bought the same LG microwave 2x, and the first one failed in 5 months. The second one failed in 1.2 years, and the warranty is one year. I asked a repair guy to come over and diagnose the problem so that I could get the Chase warranty benefit - he said he'd never buy an LG appliance. Both of the microwaves broke in different places, and microwaves are brain-dead simple machines... Just wish the microwave slot in my wall would accept something other than this LG microwave.
How about LG refrigerator? Are they good ?

I have done sous vide and then finish searing on grill/pan, doesn't turn out as well. I still prefer grilling 100% because better caramelization and enhanced smoke flavors.

It's ok. Like someone said, good quality meat but we stopped buying it because it's overly sweet due to the amount of marinade.
For years, I'd just cook it in my cast iron pan and it would be so sweet that I'd have to add mushroom and onions. Recently, I tried it on my Weber (the sides have solid areas, so the small pieces won't fall through, and big pieces go on the center of the grate). OMG, totally different flavor, not too sweet, and with slightly seared crispy edges. Incredible!

So far my 2 years old LG microwave is still running but the LED display lost a segment that makes it looks crooked.

Their customer service is horrible and they don't care about repeat customers so there is no effort to help the customer.

The dishwasher packs are a highly rated CR Best Buy, and they NEVER, go on sale... so good time to buy, even if you don't need them right away.
Yes. Grear deal at $7. They work great. At 6¢ a load, you can't beat them. I'd pick these up, but just got a bucket two weeks ago.

Reviews are quite poor though.

Great summing up of sous vid! I've found it to be the most satisfying way to cook "lower-end" steaks. A sirloin is about the nicest cut you would want to use.

i purchased that strawberry filled croissant and i regret it right away. its the same croissant as the 4.99 with a strawberry jelly in it. but half the croissant and much more expensive. i have the smuckers jelly at home and would have been better off just buying the 12 ct original croissant and add in my smuckers jelly as the costco one appears to be using something of the like.

No, LG fridges are not good. I'd try to stay away. I have an LG refrigerator, french door, and it's given me issues at least once a year. Usually, the ice maker doesn't work... that's been the issue the past 3-4 years.

This past year, the entire fridge/freezer stopped producing cold air and after we had a repairman come, it was determined that the linear compressor was faulty. LG actually has a class-action lawsuit for their compressors... they fail at a very high rate. Luckily, we were able to get our compressor replaced for free (our model was part of the class action lawsuit) but we still had to pay for the labor for an LG technician to come out.

Our next fridge will not be an LG. I have heard good things about Kitchen Aid fridges, but stay away from LG and definitely Samsung refrigerators. Stores and vendors will always try to sell you LG or Samsung because they get a bigger commission from those sales vs. the commission they get from selling you something like a Kitchen Aid fridge.

I agree with what others in this thread have already said, their fridges are unreliable and expensive to fix.
