I have a fire HD8 8th generation and it is my go to tablet. These are great for streaming and your typical apps. Use the toolbox as mentioned above. For this price, have realistic expectations.
Bad advice. Old one has a much better screen easier on the eyes. New one doesn't even have a film to make swiping smooth. You feel like you're swiping on countertop and all finger greese scraped off on to the screen. It has better speakers though. Cpus are roughly the same.
Newer doesn't mean better.
i guess that's a personal thing? for me, personally, I'm a very clean person.. I don't really use tablets or tech w/o washing my hands. I feel like 99% of people use a screen protector. that said, good to know about the screen. Personally, I'd rather have more RAM and better speakers.. but to each their own. And dunno if CPUs are even worth mentioning.. amazon is going to use the cheapest shit they can for these tabs which should be expected.
Also, I'd say most people want to justify their purchases and defend them.. esp when it comes to the next generation of the product. You see it all the time esp with gadgets and ipads.. etc. People constantly saying.. "hey my 2nd gen ipad does what 'i need it to do'.. no need to upgrade, imo hehe." Older doesn't mean better either.
I wouldn't say my advice is bad.. but the information we're both giving, about the CPU, RAM, Screen, etc, are good for people to know who are considering these devices. And again.. your beef with the screen is more of your personal issue(which is fine.. that's your thing), rather than something like additional RAM, CPU, etc.
If you read this guys comment about the "screen" it sounds like he has a personal issue with it, tbh. IMO, buying something with LESS RAM and worse internal hardware.. is pretty ignorant. You're just setting yourself up for a device that is going to be laggy/crash in the near future. Having less ram can/could lead your apps to crash.
This guy mentioning reading... if you DO a lot of reading (ebooks).. you prob wanna buy a kindle instead.. the base one is $40-50 right now on sale.
Someone telling someone to buy tech with LESS RAM is BAD advice. they both use the same CPU (Mediatek MT8183 Helio P60T)
I got these over the past Christmas holidays. Was waiting on a root but so far not happen yet. Plan to use then as security keypads via fully kiosk or HAdashboard.
Anyone know good 90-degree power adapter and wall mount?
I don't think it's been asked yet and I don't find it in the Target description. Does this device have GPS? I'm looking for a tablet to use for mapping in an off-road vehicle. Thanks
