I've been keeping an eye on these for a while now for my gear; price spiked during the pandemic and it's been at $245.95 for the past year per CCC. All time low was $163.95 on 2013-09-26 which is $191.21 adjusted for inflation; not a bad deal. Black and FDE are on sale. Olive is still full price.

Harbor Freight's version is on sale for $120. I have one and it seems fine, but the foam probably wont last as long, as least according to the reviews.

You can make the foam last long by adding a few layers of plasti-dip spray to the HB foam insert, also sold at HB.

You might be tempted to think so, but the short answer is "no".
√(35.75^2+13.50^2)=38.21
2.46 inches is not longer enough to be significant. Especially when your stuff inside isn't just a skinny pole or straight stick, so corner-to-corner placement isn't quite as helpful as one might think.

[edit: and the corners are a little rounded, taking off almost an inch each, from what would be there in a perfect rectangle.]

These are awesome cases we used to use to protect sensitive electronics in rugged/dirty use conditions like construction sites.
Oooh, maths. Alas, the reply you're replying to was a reply to a reply that discussed a different model case, 6 inches longer. (1743+182)^1/2 = 43.8 inch diagonal.
This is to say nothing of the fact that this item is three dimensional and placing it at a diagonal on its z-axis would add more length.
(43.8^2+5.25^2)^1/2 = 44.1 inches maximum length.

For serious, this guy maths.

I frequently travel with my pet Pelican and this is the only case she likes to be in for long trips. Holds three full size fish as well

I feel like this has an obvious answer, but is this a good case for things other than rifles also?

Will this fit my love doll? Our relationship is going through a rough patch and we need some space.

Depending on usage, I would agree. For most people, the HF would probably be fine. Same with HF tools. I don't work as a tradesman, using tools daily, so most of what they sell fits my needs for occasional use. For others, maybe not.
Pelicans are really nice cases.
If your going on a plane or shipping a rifle nothing compares to keep it safe

If your just going to the range or hunting cheaper options will be fine.

I have a few Plano all weather that are good.

Yes, I saw that too. But my Bergara is 44 in length. Looks like 1750 is the only one that works for me.Frown
I have the 1750. Its awesome. Even has wheels on one end. I could park a truck on it. I bought it on amazon on sale for $205 last year.

Use these as a ramp for your vehicle in a pinch. I'm kidding, it's too short. The longer version makes for a great vehicle ramp.

Also, it's tested to survive a fall from your helicopter.

Ok... I'm done. My apologies.

1700 is the only case of the 17 series that is the legal dimension for domestic air travel if you're looking for something you can check on a flight.
