And the thing is that those slower books are just fine. They just aren't at the high level you had come to expect.
Seems like every epic fantasy writer has a slow patch at some point. This is it for Jordan. And it isn't as bad as the slow book from the Game of Thrones series. Which is also a great series, despite the slow book (and still no ending).
Just stick with it. You'll be glad you did.
By the time you're on your 3rd or 4 re-read, you'll still feel the slow-down, but it won't bother you very much.
Very simply, it's the best epic fantasy series ever.
