Thanks OP! I bundled this with a 512gb microSD for $140 before tax with edu discount. I had reward/promo credit to burn and to my surprise it discounted the pre-tax price so all I had to pay for was tax on a dollar subtotal.

Is the t5 better than this? Most of the times I see comments praising the t5 more. I'm thinking of getting the 1tb next time it goes on sale

T5 is the previous model, but is quite good. Technically slower peak speeds, though some tests show the gap is small for large transfers. Many people prefer the T5 because it does not have heat issues, which some people say cause the newer fast T7 to overheat and go to sleep during big transfers. T7 is the faster model if that's the priority. I personally buy the T5 models on sale for my purposes. It is fast and good value.

Still waiting to replace my 1TB NVMe SSD I bought three years ago for $69. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron stop colluding to milk the consumer at 1-2TB kkthx. We are ready to be cheated at 4-16TB.

That is the same game the Tv manufacturers play. Price difference between a 48" and 55"? 100-140, 55 to 65... 600 dollar difference.

Thought about buying two @ $120 w/ the limited time newegg code, then with that same code applied to the 1tb version its $7 more before tax so went with the 1tb instead. (+ 15% off w/ promo code EMCEYSB59, limited offer)
