The Hack
The hack is simple. You buy a promo deal which you get a free tool or battery. There are different ways to do the hack. Pick up at the store, online, or a combination of both. You keep one of the items and the other item is subtracted automatically (if you did not pick it up) or return the item.
The Hack Example:
The M18 ($219) is the key to the hack. It is a promotional item. You have to select that in your cart. The battery ($139) is a free item. It shows you in the cart with the return value based on the zip code of the Home Depot (zip code example 43065) you select.
$133.97 + $85.03 = $219 plus your state sales tax. If you received it in the mail return the item to Home Depot and they will subtract the one you didn't want. If you didn't pick it up Home Depot will subtract the item after a certain time (they will let you know in the email). That is the Hack. Tool Boss on YouTube Channel can explain it better. I cannot provide the link due to the Slick Deals policy.

Does anyone have a sense on whether this being the gen 2 vs the new gen 3 should be something to consider?
Thanks, I got confused with the compact impact gen-3
No, not too powerful for taking them off.
Don't use an impact wrench to tighten wheel lugs/bolts. Use a torque wrench or you may over tighten.
update: nvm, have to change the shopping zip code, not the ship to zip code.

I bought mine here for $2.69.

Not working for me, sucks.
No, I use the high torque model on car wheels. I just don't put it on maximum power mode.
You realize you're breaking rule #1 of slick deals: don't talk to the reps or employees about what you're doing.
Yep. Not sure where to find my own for free. I guess they made a couple bucks and I saved some money. Works for all parties I guess.
Just realized when I was buying the coupon earlier, they ran out of the online ones so I ended getting the in-store only without paying attention. That's why it didn't work.
I'm going to try to see if they'll apply the in-store only coupon when I pick up the item.
