Almost all TracFones are Verizon locked. And I don't know any way to use this SIM/deal with one of those locked TracFones to get unlocked after a year. TracFone, HSN and QVC sell phones bundled with a year service and those are both tied to the phone but will unlock after a year.

These are cheaper and allow you to use any phone that is unlocked on the specific network you want to use but the downside is the inability to use for unlock timer. Unless someone figured out something I didn't

Have Simple Mobile iPhone SE first gen I bought from SimpleMobile website directly on 2017.

Can you guys please share which carrier should I choose ( ATT compatible or Verizon?) if purchase this Tracfone SIM and plan to use the Simple Mobile iPhone SE? Thanks.
I never could get this TF Verizon BYOP sim to activate in mine. Once activated in another phone it works for service but since sim is linked to another phone it won't qualify for unlock.

You don't see the "Join Rewards" in black to the left of my account?
Sorry, I haven't joined yet, just brought the sim. I just meant what the details are for the additional 8gb. I didn't see that in the rewards blerb.

What you should do is find a primary plan that offers wifi calling. Then you can have the convenience of staying with your primary number no matter where you go. No one wants to use a secondary no name number. Who will call you and who will you call? No one picks up calls from random numbers. Unless you are giving people multiple numbers which is annoying as heck. There is no need to waste money on this emergency backup nonsense.
The point is when you don't have reliable wifi AND your primary carrier (in my case T-Mobile) doesn't have service somewhere, then having this SIM in a hotspot device (if that works) would allow you to use this to provide emergency wifi/tethering for your main phone for both wifi calling and data functions.

If I buy now, can I wait for a couple of months to activate?
Does it work on my Total-locked phone?

Yes it does
After one year can I unlock the phone? Or I have to buy more months or year plan?

I bought moto e from HSN deal. How do I find out which carrier my phone uses?

In about phone -> sim status-> It shows mobile network state Disconnected even though I have service. Network shows blank.
On the back of the box, under the model number, it'll say LTE-V. V for Verizon.

Wait a minute. Who doesn't have reliable wifi? And why would wifi be unreliable? The signal is hardwired. Are you saying TracFone service is more reliable than your parents wifi? If so, you should be an advertisement for TracFone because that would be unheard of lol.
My parents only have the single router/modem that was provided by their home internet service provider and it doesn't cover the vast majority of the house. Since they don't use internet except for by direct ethernet connection to their home computer in their bedroom, they don't see any need to install extenders or a mesh system. They also happen to be in an area with poor/inconsistent T-Mobile signal that seems to go in and out depending on weather and time of day. So if I want to have wifi in the guest bedrooms or the kitchen or other areas that their home router doesn't reach, this is why I am looking at getting an AT&T or Verizon Tracfone SIM to put into a portable pocket hotspot device.

Previous sales have had batches that were not preloaded. I wouldn't wait beyond the eBay 30 day return period.

And there lies the real problem. You are not solving your problem properly. The mesh wifi system will cover every inch of the house. Then you can use wifi all you want with super strong reliable signal and you don't have to waste your money on this backup nonsense and use your primary number as intended.

I currently have Tracfone service on the AT&T network with a service end date of 12/15/2024. When the sale of Tracfone to Verizon is finalized will Tracfone (under the new Verizon ownership) still offer service on the ATT network? I don't want to buy more Tracfone minutes and data and in a few years have them tell me I have to switch my service over to Verizon and get a new phone that runs on the Verizon network.
