ATT is easiest since it doesn't link to IMEI. Just activate new sim (keeping current number) & everything will combine & add a year.
If my tracfone Verizon service is currently linked by IMEI to my phone, do I need an addl imei of another Verizon compatible phone to be able to extend my service? TIA

If I buy this plan, what's the regular price for renewal in the future?

Forgetting your phone is a weird reason. Why would you ever forget your phone? Would you ever forget your keys? Phones and keys are like the primary items people grab before leaving the house. Even if you forget once in a blue moon, its not like you'll die without a phone. This is a waste of money for that purpose. You can also block unwanted numbers if you sell things locally or just use email.

If you are replicating one per number coupon deals, that falls under the immoral category. If a company only wants to offer someone one per number, thats to prevent people from hoarding everything for themselves. Try to live a moral life. But thanks for being honest unlike most of the replies on here trying to justify their immoral actions. If you are being immoral just admit it and move on with life.
Wow. You asked for answers. I stated that mine may not apply to you and I did it hoping to help you. Yet you judge me. Stay classy. It's very morally superior of you to judge what others consider as acceptable or not.
If I pay for extra phones and phone numbers, that is definitely not against their terms. So I disagree with your holier-than-thou attitude.

Forgetting my phone (now and then) is what I would consider the best reason for me. My system isn't perfect. Do you understand the term "backup/emergency"? It means what it says. I may not realize it until I am far away from home, or do not have the extra time to go back for it.

Any idea if the below is still accurate for VZW? (from an older thread)
This didn't work for me with a locked Verizon phone. I've talked to Tracfone twice to try to get it sorted out. They extended my service for a year, but did not add the additional minutes/texts/data.

You run your life perfectly. We can't live to your standards. You'll continue to be disappointed in this thread. Perhaps move to a different deal.

So you received your orders last night?
They've been selling these (at various prices) since 5/2019 - they're nothing new.

Not sure if this is mentioned already, but the lifehack I've been using (previously when the best deal could be had bundling the 1 year of service with a cheap android phone) was to go on ebay and buy a Bring Your Own Device sim card kit for $1 at the same time if I'm going to be using a unlocked phone. That way I can change my mind (if I bought a Verizon airtime card and T-mobile is better where I'm at).

Does TF have a rule where you have to send a text message every 3 months to keep the account active?
No. There are no rules. It will expire after a year.

Hmmm...little suspicious of this deal. As a Tmobile user, I got their letter saying in a couple months my phone/sim card will not work when they upgrade to 5G, so makes me wonder if someone is unloading their current technology stock prior to upgrades by these networks to 5G and if you buy this where do you stand when your carrier upgrades (the usual no problem just upgrade to this 5G phone with a new contractual commitment that makes your $25 look like chump change?)? Don't really know, just reaching out to ask someone who actually knows
That has nothing to do with 5G. T-Mobile bought Sprint and is transferring all it's customers over to it's own network before it shuts down Sprint's CDMA network. As long as you have a phone capable of 4G VoLTE you'll be fine for the next several years.
If your phone is only 3g or CDMA capable you'll need to upgrade it.

Thanks for the heads up. This could have been my problem, I had ordered one and didn't activate it until 3 or 4 months later. So my service didn't get extended Frown

Yes, Verizon TF requires an IMEI to activate this preloaded sim. It will not extend a current working Verizon bundled TF because phone is already activated.
You would need to switch to an inactive IMEI then switch back to IMEI of first phone. (Most likely will reset the 12 month unlocking time if that matters. I rarely keep my bundled TF very long so can't personally verify that).

Many have kept these for several months, different reps give different answers. I've been told a year & waited over 6 months before - don't think that was the issue.
