What exactly is in this kit? A smart fixture with dumb LED bulbs or a dumb fixture with smart LED bulbs? I did a little research, but couldn't find a definitive answer. Most info suggests it is a dumb fixture with 2 Philips Hue outdoor floodlight LED bulbs.
The latter.
FYI I've purchased these before and at the very least the flared bell/bulb housing parts are plastic. Can't tell really once they are hung, but I was surprised when I pulled them out of the box.
The security lights system that does not come with a motion sensor.

Looks like 2 Hue Par 38s in a standard outdoor fixture. Hue Par 38s are 3000k (warm white)
Based on this you are paying about $40 for the enclosure since 2 bulbs are currently $50 on Amazon. I don't know the price of outdoor-rated light fixtures but seems like it could be a decent deal if you want everything together.
These must not had sold well... I just dont see why you would want a outdoor light that doesnt have a motion sensor on it. If you do you probably already have a porch light from when the house was built that you could just put a hue bulb in.
But I'm sure there are limited case uses people could find for this and set the app to auto on and off as needed or trigger with a hue motion sensor at an additional cost.

Well like you said, you could add the outdoor motion sensor and can the link these hue lights with other outdoor hue lights, walkway lights, sconces, etc. I have these hue bulbs in my soffit lighting and set on a schedule.

Was asking the same question. Dumb fixture with two smart bulbs (non-color).
What's the point of this product? Are you not able to put Hue bulbs in a regular outdoor security light?

Exactly the reason why this is been on clearance the past week.
It's been going down $5 every few days.
I use regular hue bulbs outside and never had issues.
