I think people may think you have to return in store or it's unethical. Just ordered and I set the cut off tool for free shipping and additional tool for pick up. I'll then cancel pick up order for deal

I added both the kit and ratchet to the cart but am not seeing the discount at checkout. Is this region specific like one of the Dewalt sales was a few months ago?

The hack is returning the item (promo deal or the free item) you don't want. You can set up the item you don't want to pick up at store. Don't pick up the item and it will get subtracted from the original order. Poof, the hack is complete once your online statement is updated reflecting the one item you wanted.

Tool is very handy with cutting fiber cement siding...very good deal...not really a hack anymore as home depot and milwaukee know exactly what is going on

Edit: seems like the cutoff tool all comes in one box from a quick search.

Does the cut off tool, bag and battery all come together in one box?

I bought the last deal on it and would return that one to get the bigger battery, but I already used the cutoff tool.

The so called hack can still be accomplished returning the item you don't want to keep to the store, right? I had to order both items to ship to home, none in stock around. If I try to cancel and item it will cancel the whole order. Si I figured, I'll get them both delivered at home and then I'll return the ratchet to the store close to home. Will that still work?

Please don't. Letting that pick up item sit there at the store ties up that inventory and possibly prevents others from getting in on the deal.

If you're not going to pick up your order for whatever reason, then cancel it right away instead of letting it languish on the pick up shelves.
