FYI no integrated webcam.

In the age of virtual conferences that is a cardinal sin.
Only one ram is soldered. There is additional ram not soldered and it's very easy to gain access to. You can upgrade the RAM to 40.
Then how do I play on my phone during calls?

New model, great option for compact gaming, but retail is $1400 so not slick. First time it's been in stock maybe?

Edit: Never mind, thought this was the Acer Triton thread which also popped up this morning.

Yeah, no webcam is the only reason I haven't bought this.

The first review on BB website states that the RAM is soldered into the board... Can anyone comment on that please?

Not an issue.
Asus has an app that syncs your phone's front camera as the webcam for the laptop.

One is soldered and the other is changeable. Have this laptop and love it for what I wanted it for.

Comes with 16gb but I swapped the free stick with a 32gb one due to my need for photo and video editing. Took a small hit, maybe 3-5%, on FPS on gaming but it is still a beast. Some issue with the RAM not being the same but I understood the possible impact and still did the swap.

You can sign up as the parent of a student also. It was quick and easy. asked me 3 or 4 questions and I didn't have to jump through any verification hoops.

Read the reviews before you buy, sounds like QC issues. More than normal on a $1500 laptop.

Yes, and the soldered one is single rank, so performance hit in general can't be reverted.

I've never heard of anyone running one 8 and one 32 stick at the same time.

That seems really odd. I've always like to have the same sticks in my machines.. like everyone else.

It's not an uncommon setup with laptops with a single soldered stick
