In your case though, since you already have something in an m.2 slot, you'd need to verify if you have a 2nd m.2 slot in order to do the clone process. Otherwise, you'll have to get an adapter. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/M-2-Extern...B076DC

If you don't plan to reuse the m.2 after replacing it, you could backup your data, swap the new drive for the old, and install the same version of Windows. The license is tied to the machine, not the drive.
