Just got this from the Amazon deal from the other day. Installed it into a low-end laptop that was ungodly slow, and it made it actually usable, and dare I say, kind of quick!

Love me a good NVMe SSD.

I bought the 1TB version for $119.99 from Amazon a few weeks ago. Seems fast so far, but tbh I'm a pretty casual gamer so I probably wouldn't notice if using a slower drive.

No heatsink on mine and I have it behind the motherboard in an NZXT H1 case.

My I5 Desktop has a slow 128GB m.2. Although I do not use apps much so may wait. How easy was it to get the OS onto the new m.2?

So the laptop had an HDD in it, and a slot for the NVMe SSD as well. So I plugged in the SSD, downloaded Macrium Reflect, and cloned the HDD to the NVMe.

Entire process took about 40 minutes. Just a few button clicks, and let it do its magic. Super simple to do.

In your case though, since you already have something in an m.2 slot, you'd need to verify if you have a 2nd m.2 slot in order to do the clone process. Otherwise, you'll have to get an adapter. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/M-2-Extern...B076DCNZM3

It's worth it to when amazon delivers your envelope open with the SSD missing :/ . Hello NewEgg!

If you don't plan to reuse the m.2 after replacing it, you could backup your data, swap the new drive for the old, and install the same version of Windows. The license is tied to the machine, not the drive.

Newegg uses the same envelopes and has been going downhill at a fast rate for years now. If it arrives defective, Newegg will try to get you to pay for return shipping.

Are you sure the one you have or your motherboard is NVME? Not all m.2 are nvme, some are sata

his slot is probably sata that may or may not run nvme, depending on key type. mine is m-key sata slot compatible with both nvme and sata.

Yes it is a Del 7040 I was surprised to see how good a M.2 it had. It only cost $120. Has two DP's and a HDMI. No type C. Four DDR4 slots.
