Endurance
Just a heads up, because I see this confused a lot. The 870 EVO and the 870 QVO have the same endurance. Even though for the TBW the 2 TB QVO is rated at 720 TBW and the 2 TB EVO is rated at 1,200 TBW.

The reason is that warranty period is a key in calculating TBW and DWPD (Device Writes Per Day) Taking the calculation from Chris Evans... Not movie star Chris Evans but another Chris Evans...

DWPD = TBW * 1000 / (warrantied-days * capacity-in-GB)
TBW = (DWPD * warrantied-days * capacity-in-GB) / 1000

The EVO has a 5 year warranty and the QVO has a 3 year warranty. That extra 2 years on the EVO warranty scales the TBW on the EVO version higher. But when you do the maths to get DWPD, they're the same. 0.32 DWPD each. They also have the same mean time to failure.

This is a great deal, it deserves to be on the front page. But also realize, better quality drives also go on sale for similar prices. The 2TB MX500 with TCL memory, has the same endurance, better performance, and a 5 year warranty. It was just on sale for $161.49 from Newegg on 7/29/21. In May, Amazon had it for a day at $154. The Western Digitals & Sandisks go on sale regularly. In June, the 4 TB Sandisk Ultra 3D was $315 at Newegg. Twice the price but twice the capacity and better overall.

This is a great price if you need an SSD now.

Will this work with the PS5?
Nope.

For an SSD to be PS5 compatible it needs to meet the following criteria:

PCIe Gen4 interface
250GB - 4TB capacity
5,500MB/s read speed or faster
22mm width
Heatsink required (included or third party)

Does this come with a SATA to USB connection for the PS5/XSX?
No, and even if it did it would only be able to run PS4 and Xbox One/360/OG Xbox games.

I've been waiting for 2tb of ssd to be $100 to use my last slot in a Node 202 build. Getting closer, probably still a yearish of waiting left.

Signed in first, then added code it applied, however at checkout says my email is invalid with promo code. It has been years since I've ordered from the egg

My son has a HP Gaming Laptop but the drive is too small to hold a few games. Would this be a good second drive for gaming rig or should I get him something else? Any help is appreciated...
I would personally pony up the extra $50+ or so to get an NVMe TLC drive, rather than this QLC SATA drive, especially for a gaming or performance laptop.
