I like the idea of having to manually clean my toilets less often, but is there a cheaper alternative to this product?

One of these made the rubber flapper on my toilet disintegrate and we lost hundreds of dollars in water literally down the toilet before i caught it. It was a brand new toilet also. So good luck with these. I emailed Clorox and they never responded.

These turn the water BLUE, it's weird. Not buying again. Took the better part of a month to return to normal even after throwing away the tablet. Good price though…

Happened to me. Replaced with a chemical resistant Kohler flapper from HD for $6. Replaced it myself in 5 mins after watching a YouTube video

Description for that product specify resistant to bleach/chlorine? Also, I assume there are other seals among the tank components besides f!appers.

The Kaboom system bypasses the bleach sitting in the upper tank and sends it directly down the overflow tube.

1. Over time it will corrode both the rubber and bolts in your toilet and you will have to deal with leaks. This is especially true if you don't use the toilet often as the concentration builds over time.

I have 4 toilets and one of the unused toilets leaked into downstairs after 2 years. Opened up all toilets and rubber and bolts were on their last legs.

2. If you have a septic tank this is a big no no.

Really curious what this kaboom system is though.

Edit: found it: http://www.kaboomkaboom.com/produ...ing-system

This looks better because it doesn't go in your tank. Bleach based so prob still not great for septic despite their claims.
