EDIT 8/25: Thread originally is for ATT version but now looks like sane seller has the unlocked TMO version as well for $10 more. Brand new, warranty, ect.. the TMO version is better since it's using MediaTek 5G chip, the Dimensity 1000C, instead of the SD 765G, which is on all the other variants.
LG Velvet TMO variant $269

Any GSM Carrier Arround the world
Not compatible with Verizon, Sprint, Boost, Metro PCS.
Some features may not be compatible with all carriers.
How to know if the phone is compatible with your carrier:
If you are with Verizon, Sprint, or any CDMA, you need to buy their own phones or a phone that ESN number shows compatible with your carrier, that means if you are with Verizon you need to buy a Verizon phone and our listing has to say Verizon phone, an unlocked phone will not work with those service providers.
If your carrier is a GSM carrier, you need to call and talk to their tech support to find out what frequency band they are using, then check the frequencies for the phone that you are buying to make sure it supports all the frequencies (Bands) to make sure full compatibility. Please note, carrier branded phones may have some limited such as Wi-Fi calling when the phone is used with other carriers

1. Screen password, pin or pattern is needed to access TWRP. Unless your wife stole your phone I doubt a thief would know your code. TWRP can't decrypt a device without your lock method.
2. Google has reset protection. You can reset any android phone, doesn't matter if the bootloader is unlocked. If I steal your S21U I can easily hard reset it from Samsung's recovery mode. In fact, I did just that to fix my sister's Tab S7 after she forgot the pin.
After reset the device will start as normal. HOWEVER. It will ask for the previous user's Google account. This cannot be bypassed. Essentially rendering the phone useless
3. When a phone is stolen you're supposed to report it to your carrier. They'll blacklist it. Yes, the thief will still sell it for parts on eBay. Not much you can do about that
4. Thieves don't care about a random person's data. Even if they have your phone, everything worthwhile is protected by a lock screen, fingerprint or face ID
If that's the case, why all the push back from carriers on unlocking bootloaders for "security" reasons?
Bootloops on G4, also Nexus 5, and the LG tablet X 8. Screen burn on a backup V30 phone with a purple tint over the whole screen? It was a faulty display, and I got it covered through my 3rd party warranty after waiting a year for it to kick in (yes, that happened in under a year). Charging port - also within the 1 year on the V30 on the same backup phone. It had less than 10 charge cycles on it.
If you want to fanboy, go ahead, but LG lost the war and for good reason.
Do not appreciate being called a fanboy for trying to assess your anecdotes. Most people have had an issue with their phones at some point. Need to understand why that issue manifested, whether or not the issue is the fault of the phone manufacturer, and how they responded to properly contribute to a deal post.
FTR probably one of the less brand agnostic people in this post. Between 2010-2021 I've gone through PalmOS, WebOS, Symbian, WP7-WinMo10, BBOS, and Android phones. Would repair or refurbish damaged phones I bought from eBay/CL, use them for a awhile, then sell/give to family. Had my share of duds, including a bootlooping V10.
LG is a conglomerate, and the smartphone market is on the decline (flagship devices in particular). It's one of the reasons why manufacturers are trying to create a new foldable category. Few years ago the writing was on the wall when they added ThinQ to the branding (using phones to add value to their home appliances). LG tested the waters with their dual screen cases and the Wing.
Leadership decided to cut the fat, only losers are the employees and us, the consumers.
Also, there is no so called "5G sim card" in T-Mobile.
you almost cannot surf and talk....
I don't know if there is a difference in sim cards. but i have an unlocked iphone 12, tmob reps gave me a new sim so i can use 5g. that same sim i use in the att LG velvet and I get a 5g signal.
granted 5g is very poor where I am located.
you can mirror, or use a desktop mode. it's not as fleshed out as samsung dex. but i find it useful.

If this ATT version doesn't support/load T-Mo VoLTE software, then it's dead for calls on T-Mo starting January.

I don't understand why people get so caught up on OS updates. security updates maybe. but most ios and android updates do little more than add useless features and consume more resources.
And yes u can unlock boot loader and yes there is custom recovery for em
Idk where u dudes got your information
