Parallel ready. Wondering whether I should replace my 10000W duel fuel with two of these. Texas snow storm earlier this year was no fun.

Edit: never mind, dual fuel is $1000 each.

Would still run everything but both A/Cs at the same time in a 50a travel trailer right?

Not buying until these quiet inverter generators put out split phase 220v. Enough with the 120v only.

The big ones geared towards home backup power will do 220, like the new big Predator monster inverter generator. I think the small ones are geared at using at outside events and rv's. Everything on an RV is 110V. They might have 220v plugs but nothing in an RV uses both hots to make use of 220 volts. That's why they they have the parallel kits to double the 110V Amps and let you use a full 50A RV plug. Additionally it's easier to move two small units and you have redundancy. Most things you would actually use a generator for at 220v you need a ton more amps than any of these little ones can make and end up losing the portability anyway, you'd just use a large open frame. I used to use mine for my 220V plasma cutter and MIG welder.

Personally imo this deal is better, noted from a durability standpoint, not sure which one would come out on top.

When power is out, depend on severity, gas station can't pump either. So I got the Firman TRI fuel for 699, 799 now, that can run on natural gas too. Don't need to go to gas station 5500w on NG 7500w on gasoline. Propane don't last very long. 20lb tank is only 4gal, in freezing temp you only can use half of that before running out of vapor pressure

Not inverter at those prices though.

I'd honestly be scared to run almost anything on a non-inverter these days. Almost everything has a circuit board in it that will be fried or weakened with dirty power.

To save others reading this thread from being led on a goose chase or attempting something dangerous, I believe this claim is misinformation. The small, quiet (non-open frame type) inverter generators in this wattage range sold in the USA are 120v only. I perused lowes.com, amazon, and homedepot.com to make sure I hadn't missed new models and I saw only 120v units. The poster may be mistaking the NEMA L5-30 plug commonly seen on these units for an L6-30. The L5 designates 120v, vs 240v for L6. Even the parallel kits offered for this style generator just parallel the 120v rather than providing the second generator's 120v out of phase for 240v.

I wish the claim were true, as this is something I have been searching for. Yamaha and Honda make 230v versions of the 2000i series generators, but these are not sold in the USA. Before you consider importing a generator from a country with 230v mains power, consider that most are running at 50hz, unsuitable for general use in the US. Additionally, most 230v generators sold in 60hz countries (at least those I have turned up) are not split phase, making them unsuitable for general use in the US.

I won't spend any more time attempting to disprove a negative, so I leave it up to yogi to provide examples of split phase 220v quiet inverter generators in the 2000-3500w range. I'll be happy to admit I am wrong and I'll also be the first to purchase.
