This was priced just under $400 less than a couple weeks ago. I think this model is being cleared out and is being replaced by the 27UP650 (current $450), which as far as I can tell, the main difference is an updated stand (please correct me in comments if that's not accurate).
It's also the same price on B&H photo:

2 x HDMI 2.0, DP1.4, headphone out, 3-sided bezel-less display, VESA-mountable and color-calibrated from factory. Stand supports tilt, height and rotate. I quite like the bottom power button/joystick control.

This is the best I could come up with when figuring out the LG naming scheme
LG Naming
First Two Numbers - Monitor Size
First Letter - Series Monitor Belongs to (Ultrafine, Wide, Gaming, Business)
Second Letter- Year Released (K=2018 L=2019 N=2020 P=2021)
**Next two items may or may not be in model number**
Letter after series number - F or G (Freesync or G-sync)
Last Letter - W=White or B=Black
Sometimes the series number is 2 numbers, not 3. This denotes business vs consumer monitor. Difference is 1 year warranty vs 3 year warranty otherwise they are the same.
Differences in Ultrafine Series
600 - Non-Adjustable stand no USB-C + USB 3
650 - Adjustable Stand no no USB-C + USB 3
750 - VA Screen instead of IPS, Adjustable Stand, no USB-C + USB 3
850 - Adjustable Stand, USB-C + USB 3, Speakers
950 - Thunderbolt connection instead of USB-C, Speakers

That one is likely a VA panel.
While I consider these options.. can anyone point out the differences between the 27UK, 27UL, and 27UP units. I know the 850 model has USB-C and the 650 model includes the adjustable silver stand. But like what has otherwise improved year after year with this monitor. The only information I can find is that UL added HDR400.. which Im guessing increases the brightness when viewing HDR content.

I think the alphabets signify the model year. UP is the latest 2021 model with improved colors (95% DCI-P3). UN was last year's model. UK and UL before that. Before UP, most of these monitors had 99% sRGB color support only.
Another interesting aspect I learnt from SD forums is that the U series is User/Consumer line and comes with 1 year warranty. And the B series is the Business Line which is the same monitor but 3 years warranty. E.g. 27BL85U. Not sure how LG honors the warranty if the B series is bought by consumers.
This is a great price for this monitor! 👍🏼
This was just last week. Higher specs all around and cheaper. Deal is expired now but if you can get it that price once most likely it will come around again.
That is a gaming monitor with QHD resolution. This is a UHD 4k monitor, not directly comparable.
