NAS drives and surveillance drives may be interchangeable if using in NAS since both applications are similar.... There is a reason why all HDD mfgs have different lines of product that's differentiated both in price and specs
An analogy would be something like.... if you needed to prep for a marathon race, would you hire a person that's completed a few marathons or hire a friend/coworker that runs occasionally? Yes, both have experience, but one is well suited than the other.
