DDR5 is coming out next year for 12th gen Intel and 6000 AMD. CPUs.
Something is coming up every year. With the state of tech right now, most likely those parts will be in short supply too. For now, this deal is slick.

Probably not unless your MB/CPU supports Gen 4 M.2s

I'm guessing this is the best SSD to buy now since Samsung has quietly changed controller on the 970 evo plus nvme that performs worse as space is filled up. Can't trust any ssd manufacturers anymore.

There are lots of drives faster than the 970 evo plus lol, thats only a gen 3 drive, there are quite a few drives faster than the 980 Pro also

With that mentality no one would ever buy anything. Imagine how difficult buying a car would be

Yes, you need an aftermarket heatsink if you're putting it in a PS5.

Great price. I bought one from Micro Center for $180 (after $10 discount CPU+Mobo offer) yesterday.

One explanation for why prices are dropping again. The market is locked up and the sellers have to break that logjam.

Curious why. I have this drive in my computer and it runs cool enough I never bothered installing the m.2 heatsink that came with my board.

The 980 PRO has a copper heat spreader built into the label on the back of the drive as well as a nickel coating on the Elpis controller that helps dissipate heat faster.

55C as a measured high according to testing website.
