This is CMK16GX4M2E3200C16, not CMK16GX4M2B3200C16. B3200 is better.

it's a good value. if you're building a ryzen system, depending on the game you play, you might get a decent performance boost from a 3600mhz kit (although if you're already getting high framerates, it wouldn't be perceptible). the cheapest 3600 kit that i see are $20 more than this one. for example -
https://www.newegg.com/ballistix-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820164173?Description=3600%202x8&cm... [newegg.com]

you could also try to overclock the 3200 kit to close the gap. i use 4x8 3200mhz and managed to get them up to 3500mhz. i use coffee lake so it doesn't make as much of a difference, though.

Good info, are you aware of any dual rank 16GB sticks? I've heard people are still getting ballistix sticks in dual rank but I'm 0/4 from Amazon and B&H, all have been single rank. I believe this only applies to 16gb sticks, or 8gb if you're only going 2 sticks? It's confusing.

while i can't promise anything, i believe ripjaws 3600/cl16 might be dual rank:
https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32...6820232907

most 8gb sticks will be single rank (at least it's safe to assume that way). using 4 of them will work as dual rank.

i hope a tech youtuber will test out the ballistix 16x2 with single rank and dual rank and see if there are actually any tangible differences, since i think crucial is claiming that there aren't any.

Sounds like you know a lot about this, I have an i5-7600k and currently 2400mhz ram an Asus Z270 board I think NVME SSD and a GTX 1080, I play BL3, Dying Light, Far Cry, Gen Zero will 3200 ram make much difference, and in what way? you mentioned framerates? How can I check if I can use it, is it processor dependent or MB or both? Many thanks in advance for any help or info you can provide

While this kit should work with your build, you're not going to see much of a difference. Memory speed doesn't impact Intel as much in gaming performance.

I would recommend saving that money for a future build, since you'd benefit more from an overall upgrade than a single component at this point. If you end up going with the next generation of CPUs, you would need DDR5 memory at that point.

Edit - to answer your question, memory compatibility depends on the cpu/motherboard. Not to worry, since each generation of memory lasts for quite some time and compatibility is not difficult to find. We've been on DDR4 since 2014 or something like that, and we're moving to DDR5 starting with Intel 12th gen (alder lake) and AMD zen 4. Laptops have a bit more variety (some using stuff like LPDDR) so I'm talking more desktop pcs.

I saw one person on reddit say they confirmed with software that ram is dual rank, unfortunately I'm not a big fan of gskill, it's the only ram I've ever had fail on me, twice. Ideally I stick to low profile ram as well.

I wish I could have scored some of that ballistix dual rank stuff, it would be perfect for my blackout build, it's also 16-18-18-38 vs the 16-19-19-39 of the gskill. Last shot, Newegg has it for $170 as well Please

ah, the heart wants what the heart wants Smilie hope you get what you're looking for. i believe the corsair LPX's 16gb sticks might also be single rank, so options are quite limited.

the timetec memory on amazon is dual rank, but slower timings, so it might not be as desirable. no heat sinks on it so you would be able to put a low profile aftermarket heatsink if you wanted.
