So true. They are just marketing to fans who might want a different variant. Now there is a Target Monopoly.
However, they have gotten creative with some different Monopolies. The Mario ones, Overwatch, & Fortnite are a few we've owned and fun to play. I think they have some others that are different. Similar game board, but the play is different collecting coins or HP, special abilities for characters, fighting bosses, etc.). I think the Target one might be, as well, but I have no idea who would really want that one. I was hoping the Ghostbusters one listed here would be different, but it's practically the same one as the old version we found at a Goodwill a few years ago, just different graphics and tokens and the ghost trap (which I assume holds the cards...not sure).
I also saw that. I mean, the Monopoly game is already what true equality should look like. All players get the same opportunities and get paid equally for passing go. And yet this version gives females more than males? How do they not see the hypocrisy?
