Nice strips and app. The only negative is that the USB ports are not managed at all.

I've become super lazy and really enjoy all of the smart stuff. Barely flip a light switch anymore... I know that may be unpopular decision to some, but I enjoy it all. Everything smart is kept on a separate wifi in my house. (IT geek)

I got this with another sale like it pretty well. Hooked up my computer, monitors, etc. in my home office with this. The only thing I own by this company, but have not had any issues either. And it's neat seeing the power consumption of each plug. Integrates with smart home if you are into that. And you can set things up on a schedule which is pretty nice.

Wouldn't buy full price, but at this would if you are interested in the things above.

👍🏼

Does this support the ability to do a reset of a port? I'm asking so that I could click one button so it would turn off a port where my router would then die and I would obviously lose connectivity from remote but then come back on its own, basically a reset or reboot port?

thanks Op, been looking for one of these!
I can't speak to the specific ability of reset but I have a Kasa smart outlet plug to manage my router. I upgraded to a beefier Nighthawk last year to handle more smart devices but after a few months it started needing to be power cycled every 2-3 days or it would lose internet to wifi devices. I have the plug turn off at like 5:15am and back on at 5:16am every morning. Since I started doing that I have not had any issues with wifi getting dropped.

You need something like this…MSNSwitch Internet Enabled IP Remote Power Switch with Reboot - Control via Smartphone App, Cloud Service, Web Browser, Skype or Hangouts - 2 Independent AC Power Outlets (Model 622B) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B081T...UTF8&psc=1

I also considered buying this for that exact purpose and had the same question. I always assumed it wouldn't be an issue as I have several other Kasa devices (bulbs and outlets) and all of them have scheduling abilities. Therefore I imagine one can set a time to turn off in a couple of minutes and back to on a minute later... I would be great to have someone with this specific power strip to confirm it though...

In the end I decided not to go through with it for a completely different reason. I have my Kasa devices connected to Alexa (so I can turn them on and off using voice commands) and just do not want to risk anyone in the family voicing the wrong command or having alexa misunderstand it and turn off the router by mistake....
Timer won't work, once it's turned off when the time comes for it to come back on the device won't be able to recieve the signal to turn back on, the schedule isn't stored on board the device

It was $50 for a while. And I know that because I had it in my "Save for later".

I don't know why it is in FP now. May be someone just posted it in SD or Advertised?

Do you mean that the power strip will not know when to turn the outlet back on again if it doesn't have internet connectivity? I have to say I never tried that with any of my devices, but I find it strange... keeping a basic on/off schedule in the device seems trivial... SumDuud just wrote a few posts above that his Kasa smart outlet does exactly what I mentioned in terms of scheduling one minute apart. So, at least some devices seem to be able work their schedules even if offline...

They're incorrect, the smart plugs do keep timers and schedules on-device, just tested myself with this very model and putting my phone in airplane mode. But also as you say, it wouldn't make sense to put schedules dependent on the app, it would be completely unreliable. Philips Hue doesn't do this either and I'd be surprised if any competent smart plug/lights makers did.

Is there a way,, i can see the chart of energy consumption ?
In Kasa switches i have, only can see current and total consumption , but no time based charts
You can't with the Kasa app, but there's an iOS-only app called Watt for smart devices [apple.com] that can produce some simple charts (weekly is the shortest), and also do some extra things like resetting energy stats which frankly should have been included in the Kasa app in the first place. One caveat is that you have to give it your TP-Link Kasa credentials, which for me it was fine since I only have plugs and lights, but if you have cameras you might wanna create another TP-Link account for that particular plug.

Try this. This is the only thing I have found for sump pumps.

i have this and it works great. the only feedback i have for the app is not having the ability to turn off your timer without deleting the settings. like i have a ON and OFF for everyday but sometimes I just need to keep everything off. I can't just pause that timer. I have to delete both schedules. Maybe there is a way... but then it's definitely not as obvious as it can be.

I thought with Alexa you can choose which device to be used by Alexa? Couldn't you just exclude this device?

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys plug into this that you have 6 devices near each other that need to be individually controlled?

My specific need is to be able to reboot router/switches/raspberry pi (x2)/small server/NAS/PoE wifi whenever they hang and a hard reboot is necessary. More so when traveling and something fails… having to wait until I return home to be able to get it running again has created some problems in the past. I can also imagine some people wanting for their TV/AV systems/ cable box/game console and media players, if they want additional control and/or don't want power consumption as some of those still draw reasonable power when "off"…

I didn't look into such exception rules. I know I gave alexa rights over the kasa app so it can control the existing devices, which for me is ok when we're talking about lamps and bulbs. Having some small but impactful control over my router, servers etc it's just more than I'm willing to give them…

I also considered creating a new kasa account just for this power strip (eliminating the alexa issues), but then I started looking into versions with energy monitoring and better security…
As covid had me not travel anymore this fell out of priority, but the last solution I was looking at was a KMC 4 smart plug (amazon has it), which has energy monitoring (it would be nice to know what each of the devices is consuming) and you can flash it with a Tasmota firmware for more control, security and home automation…
