Hmmm, actually it looks like these have the Unifying receiver, based on the pics in the reviews. Ever better. Title just mentioned Nano receiver. I see the description says it comes with the Unifying receiver. Logitech website [logitech.com] even says it includes a Unifying receiver.
Probably will need the Logitech Unifying Software [logi.com] instead.

logitech mouse is very good
The AA battery will literally last months and months. I don't know about a year, but a really long time. I use rechargeable eneloop AA.
Unifying receiver is awesome. You can mix and match different mice and keyboards and leave the usb receiver permanently plugged into your laptop. The only time I had a problem with this was when I had a mouse paired to 2 different laptops and had both on at the same time... it doesn't like that.
edit - oh why not, I bought another one to have as a spare.
