Amazon just announced a new set of 4k TVs, including a "4-series" and an upgraded "Omni series".

I just stumbled upon the fact that the 50" version of these TVs has a 22%-23% temporary introductory price discount, making the Omni series $399 (normally $509.99), and the 4-series $359.99 (normally $469.99).

Note below the price on the main screen, it says the following:

Introductory price of $399.99 (22% off) will be reflected at checkout. After introductory period, price will be $509.99.

I'm not sure at the moment how long this introductory price will last. The deal does not appear to apply to any of the other sizes. The TV is set to ship on 10/27/21.

The 22% off works on 65 and 75" models.

Not that price for me it shows 1099. At 869 I may try it but I doubt these are even mediocre

Hmmm... will wait for other Black Friday TV deals, and more importantly, the RTings review for this one. How do people like the Fire TV OS? I've really only used Roku and it's so slick.

I'm steadily converting over from fire tv to Roku. UI is slow af and only gets worse over time. Even newer ones are garbage. Just my two cents. Not sure if the inside tv version is better.

Fire TV OS is bad imo, Roku is far smoother in my experience. And I don't even use the Roku one unless I have to. Recently got Apple TV but it's in a different price class.

If the TV remote is the same garbage quality as the Fire TV then avoid at all cost.

I upgraded all my Fire Sticks to Fire Cubes. It was an extreme upgrade. The Cubes are honestly in the same category as Apple TV and NVIDIA Shields as far as processing power, minus the proprietary stuff. I have 2 Toshiba's that I don't use very often that have the integrated Fire TV OS.Those are comparable to the Sticks. And i never really liked Roku's platform. It kind of reminded me of those giant remote controls with the huge buttons you used to buy for your grandparents.

Man what has happened to TV prices... I was hoping to get a cheap 50" TV for a pool table / bar room but prices are insane even for the cheapo brands.
My first 50" TV was about $1500 and was 1080p... I'd say prices are much lower nowadays.

I love my Apple TV's but most people just want straightforward access to their apps. That's why I recommend Rokus to most people. The other devices make it too complicated. Too many layers to get what you need.

There isn't anything this does that I can't do on my SHIELD and my Samsung TV, and probably much better quality. They're touting features that literally a $30 stick can provide.

LOL - they're touting that you can say 'Alexa, watch a movie' and the lights dim and the TV starts up. Been doing this with Philips Hue and my SHIELD for years now. So futuristic!

I don't think the stick upgrade will be worth it until BF. Then maybe this Omni TV will be on sale too in '65 size. I'm really not in the market since my TCL 6 has held up nicely after four years.

With this you can control all your amazon stuff & a grid onscreen. Also, PIP of cameras in a small box when watching stuff.
