Getting ready to buy some huge TV need advice

My husband wants a new larger TV than our old 50 inch. He wants to invest in an LG oled. What are the best large TV's? He's looking at OLED technology but they are outrageous, obviously I am the frugal one in our family. I am panicking because I haven't had time to research TV's and hoping for some good advice here. He's thing LG 65 inch or up. Thanks

Maybe LG is a really good choice. I've seen much reviews put LG on top, including consumerreports.

LG and Samsung are the top ones LG has the brightest color from what I have seen in person

Any OLed tv is going to be expensive because it's a newer technology

Hope this answers your question. I have had a samsung 50 inch monitor for over 6 years with no issues now. Based on personal experience I would recommend this brand. Their gaming monitors/fridge I haven't heard good things but TV's samsung would be my go to. I have had a prior samsung TV that lasted 10+ years and i just wanted to upgrade.

Personally, I'll never buy another LG Product again. I bought 4x 27" monitors for work, all 4 failed in under a year and it's been a nightmare getting LG to replace them all. They were sent out and back in one at a time because the bottom 1/4 of the monitor died but the rest was still functioning so I was able to use part of it still and it was necessary for work until they were all repaired. Repairs took about 7-10 days per monitor. I'll stick with my Samsung Q90T and my Sony Bravia's.... Also, be sure to check refresh rates (actual refresh rates, you have to google what they actually mean) and get something higher than 60hz. 60hz is frustrating to watch stuff on, especially any type of sports.

I agree. The best can be pricy. If you have children that could break the TV, That could be an issue.

We have LG and it's a great quality tv. That being said, Target Black Friday just dropped their preview ad so I think now is a great time to buy.

Even though they are expensive LG is a good brand with good customer support, if you need an OLED then I would agree with the previous posters

I have a samsung and a Sony, I would say Sony is much better quality but expensive.

Being a bit frugal myself, and not being able to justify a $1500-$2000 expenditure on a TV, I bought a Sceptre U650CV-U 65" 4K TV back in January of 2018 (Walmart.com). I had done quite a bit of comparison shopping and it seemed to be the best deal going on a TV of that size at about $400. The average 4 of 5 star reviews (2739 reviews) turned out to be fitting; it's a great TV and has been trouble free for nearly 4 years now. It's connected to my media PC, and generally stays on all day anytime I'm home, which is a lot. The picture is bright and crystal clear, with great color, and I have zero complaints. When the time came to set up a similar media computer at my office about 6 months ago, I bought another identical Sceptre U650CV-U. The factory speakers aren't stellar but they're above average. I have both TVs connected to external stereo/speaker systems (HDMI passthrough) because I do a lot of music and video streaming. I get that these TVs aren't in the same class as high end Sonys, LGs, or Samsungs, but I'm super happy with them.
