Red Pocket 360-Day deals are back.

8GB plan for $216

3GB plan for $168

The 8GB plan is a little cheaper than last time and the 3GB plan is a bit more expensive.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I've had CDMA verizon redpocket for almost 2 years, I'd say it's about the same as other verizon mnvo's, all of them seem to have occasional weird coverage issues that I don't think you'd get with verizon proper, but the cost savings are worth it. The only problems are:
1. visual voicemail stops working every few months, you have to call redpocket, they fix it in a 15 minute call, say this shouldn't happen again, and then it only works for another few months.
2. NO TETHERING on current phones! I had a moto x4 up until a few months ago and tethering worked fine. I just switched to a pixel 3a and found out that officially tethering IS NOT ALLOWED and it was just a bug with older phones that allowed it to.

Now I'm looking for a new provider when my year is up in a few months, I'll probably have to go with verizon prepaid.

att gsma redpocket does support tethering but you don't get visual voicemail for free. I took two phones on vacation to some national parks, att redpocket and verizon redpocket. the att usually reported the same signal or one bar higher, however in terms of actual data usability it was about the same, I saw somewhere that maybe att's thresholds for the bar levels are a little lower. But when it really mattered I was able to get just enough intermittent signal from verizon to get an email out whereas att was useless.

Also, att tethering apparently blocks all ports other than standard web traffic, so I had problems with some of my work apps that were fine with verizon.
Only for the few lucky ones who're eligible for this bucks promotion.
For those on or wanting the 20GB plan - which is regularly $336/year via their eBay store - was priced at $300 in late October 2020. I bought that on October 14th to be specific - more than a month before Black Friday.

Also, Red Pocket eBay plans can be applied up to 90 days after purchase... or at least that was the arrangement last year. My October 14 purchase was held and was applied on December 9th.... which from my perspective means I'm already within 90 days of my own renewal so my eyes are open for the next deal on the 20GB plan.

Last - tethering. I can't help anybody tied to or preferring the Verizon network. All I know is it's worked consistently on AT&T for years on every one of my phones.

As long as you're aware of it. A lot of people get surprised come renewal time. I've used both Mint and RP, neither with major complaints. It does irk me that Mint dumbed down the precision of their data usage stats. I maintain three lines with RP now and like the breadth and variety they offer. Mint, I've only use as a serial new customer to supplement my other lines.

I'm happy to amend my comment should the fees be exorbitant upon renewal.

Any suggestion for cheaper plan for unlimited text/call? Even if data allowed is 0, that's fine.
You could try something like this

This used to be a 5GB/month, they seemed to have upgraded to 8GB since I last purchased. I JUST bought this same plan via ebay for $240 last week :\

TL;DR: Very happy with experience for ~2-3 years now.
last sale they allowed return/rebuys, contact customer service

There's a section under the Terms & Conditions tab: Unlimited doesn't mean unreasonable use.
I'm guessing most/all MVNOs have similar language. Mint users on Reddit have same complaint. I've read the only chance of true unlimited is with the 3 majors.

No refunds after 30 days, also under T&C. That's pretty much the definition of prepaid.
Yeah I get it, I spent 6 years working for Verizon corporate. But RP hides the ball, and TracFone (and ATT) got fined by the FCC for doing this same thing. According to FCC chair "Unlimited means unlimited"

If you paid for a year why would they refund you at month 6? That's not how any annual plan works!
Because they are in violation of the terms of "unlimited" and have suspended him 5-6 times for "using his phone too much" we are talking maybe a 3 hour long phone call they would turn him off. Last time they said that they would not turn it back on until the next month. He called in to cancel and get his money back they told him know.

I always use chat. It's usually about having to activate tethering on their end when I get a new plan or phone.
Chat is OK for basic stuff, but anything complicated and they don't know what they are doing.

What happens after the year? Do they charge month to month the normal cost, stop service or price hike?

Looking at the perks you mentioned, just want to make sure that I understand it correctly. So your monthly cost is originally $25 per line (tax included), then you subscribed for some services and get reimbursement for those services. Then how does it become $16 per line? Are those subscriptions free in the first place and then US Mobile still "reimburses" you?

My monthly bill for US Mobile is $100/mo for 4 lines for their Unlimited All service. I submit my Spotify Family and Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+ invoices/receipts before my US Mobile bill is due. They subtract the amount I paid for my Spotify Family and Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+ from my bill. Instead of paying $100/mo at US Mobile, I pay about $64/mo...or $16/mo per line.

This is a good deal but also check out below deal if you don't need that much data or on a budget for 5gb data for $159.99 and you can choose any MVNO network including VZ mvno from previous thread that is still available.

https://slickdeals.net/f/15186382-net10-prepaid-wireless-phone-annual-plan-with-three-sim-cards-unlimited-talk-text-5gb-per-month-for-159-99-after-20-off-code-instant20-at-ebay?p=149083915#post149083915

Above deal comes with all 3 SIM cards CDMA, GSMT and GSM. You only need a compatible UNLOCKED phone. Using it for my son and tried/worked with our old Samsung S7 and iPhone 6S Verizon phones.
No tethering on Net10 at all.

I had a similar experience recently. Have been their customer for almost 6-7 years. Suddenly in July when my monthly renewed, on Day 2 my voice/data balance went to Zero. I thought may be kids watched some video depleting data but voice was not explainable. Their chat looked it up and restored all my voice minutes (took an hour for them to do multiple verification etc.). I guess my data was also depleted in error too but I did not have proof and they did not credit that back. I had to buy data for July to get going. In August same thing happened. On Day 2 of monthly cycle voice/data gone. Again went to CS chat who restored it after an hour and said it won't happen again. They would not tell me despite my repeated request what the underlying root cause and should I be worried.

These are 2 strikes in my opinion and most likely I will move to another provider when it is time to renew. They did not seem too concerned about it when I told them that I won't renew.
LOL, after the second time they should have paid you back for the previous month's data. A small gesture like adding on an extra month for wronging a customer goes a long way in keeping that customer.
I am also a long time Red Pocket customer. My only weird experience was that i was banned from posting on a Red Pocket thread here on slickdeals (regardless of being a long time member) and i don't even remember posting anything negative as i've had generally good experience with them but something rubbed someone the wrong way.

So long as it is the same plan, you can add-on now to extend your service, and we also provide a 90-day activation period for some flexibility.

I checked two different phones IMEI's And they both say they're good for 3G service. Does that mean I will be limited to only 3G service The one is actually a 5G phone and the other is a pixel 3 XL?
