The certified refurbished Lenovo Ideapad Duet Chromebook 64gb for $141+tax after coupon code is a really good deal. I bought a certified refurb one from vipoutlet before and it looked brand new.

What do people use chromebooks for, to me they are nowhere near as powerful as most laptops yet more awkward than a tablet. I am genuinely curious what would be the need for it.
Also how good would it be for zoom vs a tablet?

They're good for grade school children, seniors, and people that use word processing regularly. They excel at battery life and stability.
They had a 12 pro Max for about $767, after applying coupon/with NYC sales tax included, earlier yesterday. I'm kicking myself for not getting it. The condition was listed as 'very good/like new, open box'

It depends. I have a samsung galaxy chromebook. It's got 13" OLED, speed that's the same as my windows desktop(core i5), does everything in chrome that I would need. If I wanted, I can play games on Google Stadia. It's thinner and lighter than a macbook air, and I got it open box from bestbuy for $500. Only downside is battery life is not enough.
Point is, there's lots of chromebook, that fits different needs and use cases.

We typically keep ours charged and pull it out when doing stuff like dealing with cell phone plan / upgrades, quick searches that are easier typed than tapped, fillable forms, etc..
Mine is bigger than my tablet, boots up in a second, and I don't keep anything besides the OS on there, so it's easy to grab and use. The kids also use theirs for school - keeps them from installing apps we don't want / need on their devices.

Second this. Great for kids - many schools use only Chromebooks. They are simple and cheap enough that you aren't out a grand if your kids breaks it.
