  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

Does any one successfully got $720 trade in deal on iPhone 13 tmobile promotion listed in best buy pre order page? Their promotion clearly says $720 on iphone 12/mini/pro trade in. However when i checked with Best Buy associate, they themselves not clear. They say it's upto but the wording says 720 for 12 series. Doesn't make sense to me. Anyone can clarify?
Terms say:

IPHONE 13 SAVE UP TO $720 OFFER:

Thanks for providing some clarity. Can you chime in on trading devices still on T-Mobile EIP? I'm seeing mixed answers

I'm assuming Best Buy has some sort of IMEI checker that can tell?
You'll need to have the phone unlocked. I believe this is where a hiccup may happen for devices on EIP. A couple phones I have on EIP say "locked." You can check / request this at the T-Mobile webpage. The App does not have this feature.

FWIW I've always had the Plus version of 6, 6s when the X came out I was excited only to find it was way too 'small' was very unhappy for two years until upgrading to XS Max then subsequently 11 P Max

Traded in a iPhone 11 Pro for iPhone 13 Pro Max on a T-Mobile One Plus plan.

Price: $1099 -$100 = $999
Trade-In: $460 + $100 = $560

Total: $439 + Tax = $479.04

To upgrade 12PRO to 13PRO costs only $99.99 plus tax on $99.99. Total $107 for me. To upgrade to the 13 PRO MAX costs $100 more total will be like $214.

Need some advise here. Is the 13 Pro Max worth the $100 difference?
If you need more battery and bigger screen, then go with the max. Everything else is the same.

The phone doesn't need to be unlocked. When filling in the trade-in form they specifically ask you which carrier the trade-in phone is on. Unlocked is not even an option.

Only $100 extra so why not. Imo $100 upgrade for 120hz and upgraded cameras and battery life is a no brainer

Best Buy deal is better. They'll give you more trade in credit and it's a one-time instant credit. The T-mobile deal gives up to $500 and you'll have to deal with getting that credit over 24 or 30 months.

If you're having issues doing the Best Buy promo online try going to the store and doing there. Think it's worth it to take advantage of this deal.

Oh great! I always had to unlock in the past for trade ins. BB doesn't call it out in the terms so that makes sense. Thx.

I went from a 12 mini 64GB to 13 for $169.99 on this deal. This is equivalent to getting $630 off with trade in and activation. That's more than the new price of the 12 mini now ($599). Compared with the Apple store, they only give $400 for the 12 mini.

Edit: You also save on tax as well since BB only charged tax on the $169.99 rather than the whole thing. Was $14 of tax instead of 66 at apple. I paid outright without bill credits.
I have Tmobile through my company, so I am not the primary account holder. I wonder if this would work for me to pay outright without bill credits. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't since they would need some kind of confirmation from the account holder though.
