I am guessing you mean Dolby vision as Dolby digital is sound.
I hope you know 12" diagonal increase is like 750 sq inch more.
Lol. A store showroom is the worst place to judge a tv.
You can't get a better image than oled.
Oleds always win in head to head comparisons by "pros".
I have two oleds. Zero burn in. Look at Rtings burn in tests. You have to abuse these tv's to get burn in.

How do you know CPS is a bad company? Does anyone have any experience with them? It seems too good to be true to provide accidental coverage.

I'm in a situation where my son cracked the screen on my 77C8 and I have to replace it because OLEDs apparently can't be repaired. My SquareTrade/Allstate warranty I purchased through Costco at the time doesn't help in this case, of course. I bought my 77C8 from BuyDig/Beach Camera in 2019, and I'm tempted to buy from them again, mainly because of the CPS warranty. Does anyone know if it can be purchased separately if you purchase the TV from elsewhere?

Video Only is offering me $2699 out the door for the C1 with a 5 year warranty, no tax (I live in WA where we normally have sales tax), with the $300 trade in of my cracked C8.
Who told you OLEDs can't be repaired? LG offered to replace my screen because of a burn-in issue.

Every TV repair company I called said that it's impossible to repair a cracked OLED screen

Repair the screen, I agree that isn't fixable. The screen can be replaced. Maybe the repair shops are not distinguishing between the two.

May I ask did you contact Square Trade? I know they don't cover burn-in. I'm guessing they won't cover accidental breakage. If you purchased the TV with a credit card, you might check to see if they included any warranty coverage.

Square Trade doesn't cover accidental breakage. I called the credit card company and the extended warranty doesn't cover accidental breakage either. I also tried to see if homeowners insurance would help, but it's not covered either.

That's up to you. Do you want the best TV or is the size of the TV more important to you. IMO, the $100 less is minor at this price point, unless it was for the same TV.

This isn't a price drop. The is the same cost it has been all year. Costco has it for the same price which is the same cost as the Sony A80J.

Ah good catch, the subject on this thread says C1 but the cheaper one is indeed an A1.

Anyone tried to get Amazon to price match the 77" for $2797 (match the GC off essentially)?

Samsung Q8 is better. They had it side by side at Costco and oled whites look blue and screen was a bit dim compared to Q8
No burn in and better price too..

Well, you don't know the first thing about TVs if you're going off of what you see in a showroom. For one, showroom TVs are almost always set on the most vibrant preset, which is one of the worst settings for a TV.

The whites looking blue is due to whatever settings they have it on. As far as the burn-in, those TVs are left on all day and night, of course they're going to get burn-in. That almost never actually happens to people's OLEDs when they take care of them, i.e don't leave them on 24/7.

No TV's picture or color can compare to an LG OLED. I really hope no one makes their decision based off of the foolish, uninformed information you're peddling.

Just putting it out there. There is a known issue with recent C1's not supporting HDCP 2.2 on any of the HDMI ports (my recently purchased C1 is affected).

LG has confirmed this issue but has yet to state how they will be fixing it.

I strongly encourage everyone to test playing a 4K UHD disc as soon as you have your TV's setup (with all settings correct like Deep Color being on, etc) to see if your panel is affected by this issue or not.

Info here:
https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-...-p/3794152

And here:
https://www.avforums.com/threads/...83/page-88

So far it is mostly UK based owners raising the issue, but I am seeing more and more US based owners (myself included) with the issue.

LG's response to one user below:

"Good Afternoon Mr x,

Thank you for your email that has been forwarded to me by the President of LG Electronics.

Firstly I would like to apologise for the delay in responding to your email.

I am sorry to hear about the issues that you are experiencing with your new LG OLED TV.

We are aware that with some of our OLED C1 models there is this issue with displaying 4K content from connected devices such as Sky Q. This issue is currently being investigated to confirm why this is happening and how to get this issue resolved. As soon as our Technical Team are able to advise further on the issue and next steps then we will contact you to advise.

I am sorry for any inconvenience that this issue may cause. if you do have any questions in the meantime please don't hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards

Naomi

LG Executive Care Team"
