I am guessing you mean Dolby vision as Dolby digital is sound.
I hope you know 12" diagonal increase is like 750 sq inch more.
Lol. A store showroom is the worst place to judge a tv.
You can't get a better image than oled.
Oleds always win in head to head comparisons by "pros".
I have two oleds. Zero burn in. Look at Rtings burn in tests. You have to abuse these tv's to get burn in.

Rtings seems to think a 50" is the appropriate size for 7'.

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...lationship

FWIW, I sit at 11' with my 77" and think it's great. Not sure how it would feel at 7'. I would have to replace my broken 77" first and sit at 7' and report back. Hopefully picking up my replacement 77" today.
Yea they use a recommended viewing angle of 30 degrees. I was thinking of 40 degrees for movie viewing, but using 40 degrees might be too high for gaming. I guess I have all the time in the world to think about this, since I already have a 65" OLED, and there's no reason for me to go 120hz right now since most games will look too graphically simple at 120fps with current gen consoles. I use a 32" 240hz monitor for PC gaming.

I bought the 77" C1 back in the summer as my first oled. Paid $3175 with free shipping and no tax. Should have waited a bit longer lol.

Absolutely blown away by the picture quality and snappy processing.

How does one get away with no tax at this day and age?

I was able to get a price match on the last day of my return window when I got my c8. Wasn't during the holiday season though.

Is there any where to get an estimate of what you may be able to fetch for an old TV? I have a 65 inch Samsung KS8000 from 2016 or so that I may try to sell to fund a 77 inch C1

By abuse you mean using it as a regular TV? Can I put on ESPN and watch it 10 hours a day like my $100 4k tv I bought last year? probably not you have to baby it

Depending on the retailer, they only need to charge tax for states that they have physical addresses in. Something like that.

Quote from Shake-N-Bake :
Well, you don't know the first thing about TVs if you're going off of what you see in a showroom. For one, showroom TVs are almost always set on the most vibrant preset, which is one of the worst settings for a TV.

The whites looking blue is due to whatever settings they have it on. As far as the burn-in, those TVs are left on all day and night, of course they're going to get burn-in. That almost never actually happens to people's OLEDs when they take care of them, i.e don't leave them on 24/7.

No TV's picture or color can compare to an LG OLED. I really hope no one makes their decision based off of the foolish, uninformed information you're peddling.
You keep pushing LG OLED and saying its better than everything, but its not that simple. In terms of OLED it is well accepted among professional reviewers that Sony's processing is better across the board. The A80/A90J has a better picture than the LG OLED so if you want picture, the Sony is considered the best on the market in 2021. But LG has better gaming features.

The same can be said for the 85 inch QLED. If someone is sitting in a room that cannot be dim on bright sunny days, then the QLED will give a better experience because it handles glare better and can get significantly brighter. The brightness is needed to prevent it from getting drowned out by the surrounding light sources and in some rooms the LG OLED is not up to the task.

If you are in a darker/light controlled room and are a gamer, you are right the LG OLED is the best on the market, but if you aren't those things then there are better TVs depending on the situation in every category.

The A80/90J, C1, and QN90A are all the best TV for certain use cases.

Does anyone know when LG will release it's 2022 OLEDs (or when they typically release new TVs)? Trying to decide whether to bite on this deal now or wait until new models come out.
