Just about every website is offering up to $1000 for iPhone 13. However, here is a strategy that is an inexpensive solution to get an $800 trade in credit.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cond...1804983518

Go to eBay to find an unlocked S9. Most S9's are going for $90-$140. Use this phone as a trade in. Be sure and check the description for the condition of the S9 phones. If the phones are cracked or have spots you won't receive the full $800 promo credit.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_...9&_sacat=0

Also you will need to have the Play More, Do More or Get More Unlimited plans. Great deal for such a great strategy. All together you should net around $650-$700 for trading in an S9.

Have you tried going to the store?
I personally did this deal for a family member of mine that has 1 line.

I want to switch over my tmobile 4 line plan to verizon and considering doing the switch with the $800 promo so I would hope it's not just 1 promo per account. Verizon seems to have the best coverage around this area. Tmobile data has been slow as of late.

Verizon is money sucker.. And the customer service is very bad (this is my own experience)..

Verizon wants me to add the S9 as a line, I can't simply upgrade an existing line. Anyone have this problem??? Basically adding a line, then porting my current number to the new line and canceling the newly created line. Anyone experience this??

No, that sounds shiesty, speak to a different rep.

You can take the sim card out of your current phone, put it into the S9 and activate on on Verizon network. Then call in and tell them you want to trade it in via the upgrade promotion.

How did you all managed to either get the $35 upgrade fee waived or some sort of loyalty credit? I've been with Verizon for 17+ years and they won't budge on anything.

I'm on with their chat support and I asked and check out this response:

Verizon Agent:
Hello there I will be more than happy to help you today and make sure all of your quesitons are answered Smilie. How can I help you today?
Me: Hi, I just upgraded one of my lines. I was wondering if I can ask you to waive/credit me the $35 upgrade fee

Verizon Agent:
That is a great question. Smilie So I want to help you understand this fee. It is a fee to make sure it activates on your line only and on the network. With these fees they are valid charge that applies to the account.
Me: Yeah I get that, I wasnt questioning the fees validity. Ask your manager if you can do it for a loyal customer (17+ years).

Verizon Agent:
Thank you very much for being with us that long Smilie. With that fee all customers pay that fee Even us as employees. This is a valid fee to apply.

Me: Some customers have been able to get that fee waived and they havent been a customer for that long.

Verizon Agent:
I see, Well we can only waive if there is a promotion for it. This fee is not something that can just be waived. These are fees that are part of the upgrade process.

Me: Please ask your manager. In all the time Ive been a customer, Ive never encountered a situation where Verizon was unable to figure out.

Verizon Agent
The manager and I have the same responsibilities. This charge is occurred on upgrade fees. The manager will decline since it is a valid charge for this process on getting a new phone.

Me: how about a loyalty discount of sorts?

Verizon Agent
I see, I am sorry, but are you just wanting a credit because of loyalty?

Then they disconnected. Wow.
I was able to get it waived by asking for it prior to checkout. I had everything in my cart then chose chat from the app. I said I've been with Verizon for over a decade and was it possible to kindly get the upgrade fee waived. The rep replied in kind and said he could. Then I said I don't see it showing up in my cart and I still see it. He said I would get the credit on the next bill cycle. He even sent a text to confirm the $35 upgrade fee being waived. Then I went ahead and completed my order. So if they say anything I have a Verizon text message saying it's waived. I'll just have to watch my next bill like a hawk 😂

That is garbage. I talked to a rep to upgrade two lines with S9 trade in. Said I wanted to pay my iPhone 11s off. She, out of the blue, said she'd waive the upgrade fees. I never asked. So we got two 13s traded in S9s and I'll sell the 11s plus they waived upgrade fee on each line without asking. They can and should easily waive it. We have 4 lines and have been with them 4 years now

***IF YOU HAVE ISSUE TRYING TO TRADE IN A DEVICE THAT IS NOT ON YOUR PLAN DO THIS***

1) chat w Verizon
2) say your current device on plan broke
3) give them your (trade in phone) model
4) give them IMEI of trade in Device
5) they will as you for new ICCID (sim) number. Here give them your CURRENT SIM on your registered device with them
6) they will make t he switch. Don't worry nothing will really change.
7) they ask u to boot off both devices. DONT DO THIS.
8) they will ask us to turn on new phone and make test call. Tell them it's good.
9) go back to your cart and trade in. You will now see device on your list to trade in.

YOUR ORIGINAL DEVICE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK UNINTERRUPTED !!!!

Enjoy.

Similar experience here. I went through phone sales. I had 2 Verizon lines and added to 2 more. I was able to get $140 in credit back from the 4 activation fees.

One interesting thing to note: if you do all of this through Apple, you pay tax on the price of the phone minus the original value of the trade-in. If you do it through Verizon, you pay tax on the full price of the phone.
