Had the bigger version. Started getting headaches so I stopped drinking this water. Headaches gone. GF started using it again and so did I. Headaches came back.

Said screw it, now have a water dispenser. Am happier.

Google zero water headaches.

I really like his channel for most of the tests he has done.

However in this case, having essentially distilled water is not really meaningful to high quality tasting water. You actually want minerals in your water, because they are a source of nutrients for your body and also makes it taste good. That is why bottled spring water sells well for drinking water, distilled water is used for non-drinking purposes.

I get it, we are all nerds and get off on raw stats on his tests, but in this particular case, 0 PPM isn't really meaningful to good tasting water.

I was thinking similarly. ZeroWater filters are definitely good at what they do. But my understanding is they also have a short lifespan and are costly. Additionally, the trace minerals in water end up being useful to the body usually. But for folks who have decent potable water, I don't know if TDS 0 makes sense, I should try checking the TDS content of various bottled waters for reference.

I have heard of folks in some spots like Arizona who despite using carbon based water filtration, their water still tastes so terrible they only drink bottled water.

My tap water has a lot of iron, so the taste is meh, but is otherwise good to drink, adding in a 2 stage filter to my sink fixed that issue.

I got the Zero water and used it for a while. If you drink lots of water. I would say don't get this. The filter does not last long and once it dies the water turn sour. Just search Zero Water Sour on google, it will take you to their company FAQ that says you need to replaced the filter. The filter price is not that bad but if one only last about 2 weeks and you can't really use it beyond it failure date because the water taste sour. Then the cost of these filters does add up quickly. So I would consider the long term use as well. Either way I returned mine, it is not worth it.

Hmm, I do like the idea of a water quality meter if it works well. I have a Brita Pitcher and honestly I don't realize I need to change the filter until it starts tasting weirder and weirder, don't use it enough to justify doing it every 2 months like their suggestion.
