Pro tip. Score the drywall with your knife first, then use your keyhole saw to finish for a clean cut. These single direction saws also provide a cleaner more accurate cut with less dust than the double sided saws, especially for junction boxes. For longer cuts (24" or more) a full size hand saw can make things easier.

If you do much drywall work, things like cutting out holes, you'd want a double sided saw, makes it so much easier.

Something like this:

For cutting drywall that's not on the wall sure, but for patch jobs a box cutter wears down quickly. These saws do leave rough cuts compared to a box cutter though.

I use a similar DeWalt to this to cut holes for a few outlet boxes a year. Very easy and convenient, but the big thick teeth will sometimes catch and tear chunks of "rock" away from the paper on the backside when I'm finishing off the hole. Still a neater job than when the builder cut all their holes using what I can only imagine was a sledgehammer.

Or, buy an oscillating tool, which do the job (cutting drywall) and are a lot more versatile - have a lot of other applications. 24.95 at Harborfreight.

But if you're not into DIY and only have to cut a small amount of drywall, the OP tool will do. Price is low.

i was going to buy one and chose prime day delivery since it's such a small item. then i thought i should maybe just buy 2 while i can at this price. that's when a $1 credit showed up for prime day delivery. the coupon applied to both units, so the 2nd one is $1.80 net cost.
