PlayStation 5/Digital Edition & Xbox Series Consoles) at
retail/MSRP price at select Best Buys stores valid only on Thursday, September 23, 2021 (

Note, this is a in-store event only and will have the opportunity to purchase a next-gen console of choice.
How to get a chance at a next-gen console?- Blue Shirts employees at participating stores will begin handing out tickets at 7:30 a.m. local time* that morning. They will ask you which console you wish to buy, and hand out one ticket per purchasing customer in line. If you receive a ticket, you will be guaranteed the opportunity to purchase the console for which you have received a ticket. While in the store, you will also be able to buy games or gaming accessories in addition to your console.

My point to all that is…If you are Sony and Microsoft, and you are taking a loss on selling the system. Wouldn't you want to ensure that your console winds up in the hands of people more likely to turn that loss around?
Just a thought, but it's not like anybody is hurting except the ones paying 100-500 over retail to have one.
I'm not buying a PS4 anytime soon, will wait for slim or mini version.
