Be careful. The default seller "Eazy Buying" listed $6.75 price with $20.44 delivery fee.
I had to view Other Sellers to see the OP deal.

Face wash isn't on the skin long enough for the SA in it to even be consistently effective. It's a little bit of marketing to include buzzy sounding actives in face wash, and most people see differences from other components of the wash or by including salicylic acid in their other parts of their routine. What should be considered, however, is that CeraVe is a more dermatologically strict brand with more clinical benefit-focused products. Equate's orange salicylic wash is a copy of Neutrogena's, which is highly fragranced (a red flag - it's an irritant for skin with no benefit, even on people who think they tolerate it - has no place in skincare) and uses sulfonates (an alternate of sulfates, harsh detergent functioning ingredients that can excessively dry out skin).

So I recommend the CeraVe if you insist on a salicylic acid wash - the brand has more integrity about skin benefits being their goal, rather than cosmetically appealing ingredients that just risk issues and long term sensitivity.

Normally 9.89 at Target. It's too expensive for salacytic wash for me though for only 8oz. I'm currently using the Equate orange salacytic 2.0% for half this price with great results.

"My dermatologist, from their product information, states it's less than <1%. If using this product, 0.5-1% would affect the skin in the same way. A >2% level is considered a damaging peel, rather than developing a natural slough of dead skin cells that .05-1% will do This exfoliates gently, and gradually, avoiding skin damage, thus aiding in healing and repair." tbf this also has hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and Ceramides, but if you just want a salicylic acid wash you can get it for cheap.

If it works for you, great but Walmart/target dupes of products aren't the same although they make it seem like it is. But they're not apples to oranges. Having tried copies of products before, I'm glad the dupes has a satisfaction guarantee as I have had bad experiences and had to return.

I think about this every time I use face wash. The ingredients can't really be working for the 10 seconds it's on my face... Is there a better way to get the benefits? Is leaving it on for longer recommended?

There are several great leave-on salicylic acid products, yes. CeraVe has a 2% Gel if looking to test out salicylic acid. Paula's Choice sells various strengths and consistencies at Sephora and even more at their own site/their Amazon page, The Inkey List and The Ordinary are two affordable brands also at Sephora and Ulta with specific products for this.
