Service is awesome.. no doubt.. convenience to kick off wherever and whenever you want.. mobile, tablet, TV with chromecast is really great. Especially... when leading busy life with kids.

Only downside is game collection is not so great.. and often they are very expensive. Their pro subscription at 10 bucks a month is not at all justifiable.

Definitely not worth for full time gamers. Casual gamers playing only a handful of games like me .. 60 bucks for a game and chromecast is well worth it.

They have servers all over the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goo...th_America

In my experience it is neither slow nor laggy if you have reliable home internet.

Uh, it's a digital game, how exactly are you going to do that? And it's a digital game that only works with Stadia, at that.

I didn't see this mentioned, but something to note if the 4K is important to you (if playing on a TV or higher end PC).

You're paying perhaps $60 for a game but you need to subscribe to Stadia Pro EVEN for games you have bought to get 4K.

If you don't subscribe, ALL games, including ones you've bought, are capped at 1080P. "4K" vs 1080P difference on a large TV is huge.

I just signed up to Stadia for this and got a $10 off coupon. Will I still get the Premiere Edition if I use that $10 coupon?
Yep

It's a silly thing to be afraid of. All of those services that Google canceled were free and didn't make them any money directly, Stadia is an entirely different beast and it's been growing significantly in the user base. It's hands down the best game streaming platform right now as far as visual and audio quality goes. It's not going anywhere for a long time, if ever.
You think Stadia is making enough money to be kept around? Don't kid yourself, unless there's major adoption, this thing is going away.. Big companies like Google are not interested in keeping business that don't make them a considerable amount of profits. Stadia at this point is definitely not even close to that.

How do I do _not_ apply $10 promo? It is applied automatically, not sure how to remove it so the total is >59.99?
Per Stadia support on Twitter its ok to use the coupon on a 59.99 game
https://twitter.com/GoogleStadia/...96240?s=20

But to be safe, just buy another within $10 which you will get for free and then buy the 59.99 game.

It ran well for me but the graphics seemed pretty bad, could just be the game itself though.
The Stadia hardware is not that good. For example it has no ray tracing and overall the quality is considerably worse than from current gen consoles.

The Series S is a much better deal IMO.. specially if you add Game Pass on top.

I read that Stadia is running the series S version of FIFA 22. Also, google will continually upgrade the hardware over time. So far with games like FIFA and Cuberpunk, it's proven to be very well on par.

Stadia does not have ray tracing so it's not the same hardware as the S, it's worse.

Cyberpunk ran better than on previous gen hardware as it was ancient by today's standards and the game was poorly optimized for it.. It was the perfect storm.

Having said that, if it survives a couple years, I would definitely expect them to upgrade the hardware to a more modern that would likely match or surpass the PS5/Series X.

You do?

Google is barely spending on advertising the service, no exclusives $ devs (outside Ubisoft) are rarely porting games to the service and the ones that do is because Google is paying them.. those are clear indications it's not doing as well as some of you would like...

No, I don't know how much money it is or isn't making, but I didn't make the comment acting like I did. It's a brand new console. Do you understand how business works? Promotions and buying games are exactly how it grows in popularity. It took Amazon 10 years before they actually started making money. The Stadia user base is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, consistently growing, as are the features and game catalog.

Apples to oranges... Stadia does not bring anything new or unique (see Luna, XCloud & PSNow) to the gaming landscape. Amazon revolutionized the brick and mortar business model.

Streaming quality is good but its useless if there's no games to play. Why deny the obvious? New games are NOT coming to the platform. That alone speaks much louder than whatever you and I can say... Even Luna might be in a better position to survive in the long run that Stadia and that's saying a lot..

Lol, so much of this comment is wrong. First of all, as far as streaming picture/audio quality go, Stadia is significantly better than any of the services you listed off. They're closest competitor would be GeForce Now, but it's still not near as seamless to launch and wonky with the multiple logins required when opening games. Secondly, the two biggest games this month being FIFA and Far Cry are both on Stadia. The biggest game released before that was Resident evil, which is also on Stadia. And lastly, Stadia is a console, the other services you listed off are subscription based, Stadia does not cost a penny unless you want the pro games.

Stadia works great for me. I have played it a lot and always had a fantastic experience. Wish more people would see it's a great service.

As I said, not much more going for it other than the steaming quality. Thanks for confirming that!

Also.. Even going to echo chambers like the Stadia subs you see the same sentiment of few (if any) major games coming to the platform except the Ubisoft games and the outlier deal for one of games like FIFA.. but sure, keep the denial strong.
