I am a covid nurse. My hospital supplies us the duck ones and they are the easiest of any to breathe in. I have no problem wearing them for 12+ hours.

Yeah, no. Not a valid test. For example, farts are mostly methane which isn't any bigger than gaseous oxygen, nitrogen or co2. Methane will pass the filter no problem as does o2 and co2. Bare virus particles and respiratory aerosols are thousands of times bigger. Just because you can smell a fart through these doesn't mean that they're not filtering out the bigger stuff.

If you are into pristine packaging you are going to be disappointed in n95 masks. These are not iphones-they are usually sold for commercial purposes without fancy packaging.
They are usually in light cardstock boxes and plastic bags with twist ties.

When you order one box from Amazon the cardstock box is removed from crate and shoved in a padded envelope. The envelope and cardstock box provide no protection under normal shipping.

The folded and duckbill masks usually are all right but he cardstock box will be damaged. The clamshell masks can get mashed up.

In the early days of covid you were lucky to get any of these so the early whiners needed to just get over it.

It took me four months to get my first set on 20 clamshell Honeywell n95 masks. One mask was completely crushed. No way was I sending them back.

Lots of complaints about product and packaging arriving unsealed. This is highly irregular for medical equipment.

the elastic breaks off of these a bit easily if you have big head, it's not terrible but you need to be a little gentle

Duckbill masks are my personal favorite due to how easy it is to breathe in them and talk through them. My patients understand me better when I wear them vs the traditional N95.

I googled duckbill mask, it returned the following:

How effective are duckbill masks?
"Study data revealed that duckbill N95s had a high failure rate, with over 70% of masks failing, whereas dome-shaped masks had a failure rate of 27.5%.2020/06/15"

....

The reason these and even the KC masks are even available is that they can't be sold as "medical equipment" or used in a medical setting. Most "medical" N95s are still being sent difectly to the federal government to support the pandemic. There is no difference in the filtering capacity as a N95 has to meet specific filtering requirements to be a N95, it's a semantics thing.

This was a study about reused masks. They are not selling used masks so your comment does not apply.

I wouldn't have ended your post with "it's a semantics thing", since medical grade masks have to pass certain splash test that industrials don't.
