The new Soulcycle benefit that was also added is completely worthless
I admit, i will probably use this Walmart deal but i dont thiink the typical AMEX Plat card holder would ever step foot insiide a walmart.
I hope AMEX dont continue going down the shitter.

$200 airline credit. You can book flights with JetBlue and southwest with it (there's a threshold that will trigger the credit)
$200 Uber cash. Easy and can be used with Uber eats.
$200 hotel credit though their portal. It's true that you can get a better price, but if you need an hotel for a night or two you can use it without problems. I'm using it for a night at nyc for a wedding that I'd have to pay anyways.
$179 Clear credit if you travel.
$155 Walmart+ credit.
$240 digital credit. I pay audible and NYT with it.
Every 4 years they pay for my global entry membership.
The only big one I don't use is the $300 equinox credit.
The card is aimed to travelers. Most travelers can use those credits easily and the annual cost of the card is practically zero.

Also, it might make more sense to wait a couple of weeks to sign up, so that after the 15 day trial, the 1 month credit would cover past Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Oh, and about Amex Platinum being some kind of exclusive club whose members don't shop W+, I do BOTH, as do many of my friends who have Amex Platinum. I don't know anybody who doesn't like a good deal....
