Can anyone recommend a good cheapo otg cable that will work? How about a 2 USB port one?
Here ya go. A two pack for $5. I have something very similar hooked up to my Onn box right now and it allows me to plug in a USB thumb drive.

2 Pack OTG Cables Compatible with Amazon Fire Stick 4K, Compatible with Samsung Galaxy, Fire TV, for Android Phone, Tablet Micro USB Host Cords Adapters with Micro USB Power

Edit: The one listed below me is also pretty nice.

This or a $15 fire stick 4k?

I prefer this box over the fire stick since this box has the google play store which the fire stick doesn't. Yes, you can sideload apps on the firestick but having the play store is really nice.

This is also running Android 10 and has a cleaner interface compared to fire stick. With the fire stick you have so much amazon related stuff on the homepage.

Can you add kodi to this?

And do these have internal storage?

Yes, Kodi can be installed. You can download it from the google play store without the need of sideloading. As for internal storage it has around 4.5gb to 5gb of free space.

I was thinking about getting this one [amazon.com]. Pretty good reviews and also gives you ethernet.

I have two of these devices and I absolutely love Android TV and this device is a great value but yes, it locks up on me all the time. I'm constantly having to unplug it and plug it back in order to get it working again.
Like once , twice,, daily, weekly, monthly? How often?

edit..people saying lock up issues have been fixed by updates

I have the Dynalink version and this is a pass even at 20 bucks. Mine would inexplicably freeze and need to be hard reset at least twice a week. Went back to the trusty Fire Stick 4K and no more issues aside from the crappy Amazon UI.
I had the same problem till I came up with the solution to knit it a thick wool sweater. No more freezing

How long ago was this? As soon as I unboxed it there was a software update and I've been using it ever since. No stutters, lags, or freezing of any kind.
+1, Same here. After the software update no freezing issues. ( goto - Settings, device preferences, about, system update). Had this for a few months now and I like it. Voice search using the remote in the YouTube app works great.

The voice search is super clutch IMO. Saves me from spamming the remote "dpad"

Tivo stream 4k is also 19.99$ at walmart. Check your local stores. Tivo 4k is also pure android stick and it has dolby vision and dolby atmos support and comes with nice remote with numbers. I know it has few issues for some people with tivo layer software but I "de-tivo" and now it is pure android box.

yes. this.

tivo stream 4k is the best budget streamer out there. I got my shield for the front room, and all of these tivo units for the bedrooms.

works great. zero issues, fast, and great remote.

I bought they Dynalink version earlier in the year and it's generally been fine. It locks up very rarely, although sometimes it turns my TV on at random times for no reason (seems to happen a lot less since whatever the last software update was). The Dyna remote is crap...buttons are all smashed together and easy to hit the wrong one in the dark. I'm tempted just to buy the Onn box for the remote alone.
