I have two of these devices and I absolutely love Android TV and this device is a great value but yes, it locks up on me all the time. I'm constantly having to unplug it and plug it back in order to get it working again.

First issue; the remote was not synced upon first start up. The IR port is on the same side as the white led, but still nothing. After pairing I was greeted with a remote control update. The home button does not work. I mean a light comes on when I press the button, but the Android box does nothing. Second issue; The Android system update fails to install. I tried to update it before installing any apps or signing in, then tried signing in, then tried a factory reset, and I always get the same failure message. "Secure check failed (not match)" "E:Error in /cache/update.zip. (Status 7)"

Pretty disenchanted, I may return it for a replacement or just get my money back.

Just returned the first unit, and brought home and setup the second unit. This one seems to work great. The second one powered on and directly wanted to pair the remote and update the unit. The first one did not have that setup, and it had a few weird apps like burn in, askey system trace, and an unnamed upgrade program. Kind of seemed like it had been powered on before. The first one appeared sealed before I opened it.

This second unit is snappy, it was easily programmed for my tv and soundbar, and updated without issue. The first one was a dud. I am happy
