Have 3 of these, all work perfect. No lockup issues at all. Very happy with them. They work way better then Firesticks with Channels DVR access. Getting a few more for my other TVs to get rid of all the firesticks.

You just need to de-tivo the stream and it's fantastic
Unless you need the space, you can simply turn off the Tivo part of the TivoStream4k. To do this go to....Settings > Apps, then select "See all apps." Scroll down and click on TiVo Stream, then select "Disable," and hit "Yes" to confirm. Now you pretty much have an AndroidTV device. I love the Tivo device and if you can get it at the Onn price as some have stated I would grab it. The remote, and extra USB port really make the Tivo shine. Heck if you can, buy both and return the one you don't like if you're on the fence.

Very few VPN issues using IPVanish and VPN Unlimited. I leave the VPN on constantly and use split tunneling for apps that don't need a VPN. Once or twice a month it will disconnect is all.
Same, no current issues using Windscribe with ethernet on my Tivo4k. I used to have to disconnect/reconnect the ethernet cable while Windscribe was connecting to get my adapter to work. However, I have not had any issues with that in over a month.

Get the Roku Express 4K+ for $9 more
I agree if you don't want to load third party apps. If you want third party apps the Roku is a no go.

I see that this has some built in storage.

Can anyone confirm that this can be used to download and watch Netflix and HBO Max episodes offline? Our wifi is turned off 1/3 of the time.

Thanks!

I have two of these devices and I absolutely love Android TV and this device is a great value but yes, it locks up on me all the time. I'm constantly having to unplug it and plug it back in order to get it working again.
Thanks so much for your comment.

Nice! Thank you for the link.
Anyone using Xfinity stream app (Google play version, not "beta" like the Roku or FTV versions) on this? Looking to dump another rental TV box.

Same here. And it would randomly turn the TV on at night by itself.
Yup, forgot to mention that in my original post, I would come home or wake up and find the TV on when I knew it had been off before. Strange and annoying.

Lol. Ok. People need to learn what "great value" means. It does not mean something cheap. It means something cheap, that works well. Having a device lock up on you all the time, and having to constantly unplug it to fix it is not a great value. It's a cheap price for a terrible product.
In this case I have to agree, as Slickdealers we're accustomed to making compromises to get a great deal but this goes beyond that. When you can't rely on the device to do its only job without frustration, it doesn't really matter how cheap you got it.
