I have two of these devices and I absolutely love Android TV and this device is a great value but yes, it locks up on me all the time. I'm constantly having to unplug it and plug it back in order to get it working again.

The Xfinity Steam for Android TV app (version 6.9.2.001) on the Troypoint App (https://troypoint.com/tpapp works on the onn. You will have to install the Sideload Launcher to start Xfinity Stream.

Bought two updated them. Happy with the purchase. Also these things run emulators well. I have several that I bought on the play store years ago. Nes. Snes. Genesis. Neo geo. N64 tg16. Use file explorer to copy the roms you uploaded to your Google my drive. Voila... Bluetooth controllers. I believe this thing only has three gigs of usable space so I put all the old Rom collections except neo geo and n64, only picked the best 30 games of each to conserve space. I see no difference in emulation quality from my nvidia shield which retails $175. You can use your Google account on an unlimited number of devices so if you have friends or family you can share your Google account so they don't have to buy the emulators.

I've used mine for several hours over the past few days. Zero lockups or freezes so far. I think it's an extremely good value. You get a lot of bang for your buck.

I was most interested in Kodi and Smart Tube Next. Both work flawlessly. Voice input is also very useful so you don't have to painfully type with a TV remote. Google assistant is a nice plus. Have no idea how they managed to sell all of these things for only $20. I almost feel guilty... Almost.

I see... So this would be a setting in the VPN client app then? Like NordVPN on Android TV? I have the reverse use case... I don't want to use the VPN except for 1 app. For that, it is annoying to toggle it on/off... This could be great!

Ok, so I somewhat figured it out.

Not sure if we can link to GitHub, but mistertest on GitHub has basic game pass beta apks that are basically stripped down web browsers that only access game pass cloud. There's one for the Shield and one for GTV.

So far, no crashes like I got when side loading the official beta app. Some issues I've seen.

Laggy, more so than usual. Not sure if it's the app and Bluetooth or my stream. My daughter was facetiming, watching youtube and playing Roblox in her room when i was testing it, so it may be better when she's not doing all that.

Also, you have to take out the batteries from the Onn tv remote before the game loads. For whatever reason, the app can't accept controller input in game if the remote control is still connected to the box. Annoying but a work around.

When it ran smoothly, it looked and played as well as an Xbox.

Oh, and stadia runs fine for anyone else who wants to know.

The only issue I have is with the 'block connections without VPN' setting. There's no way to set it for a single app on Android. I guess this would be like setting up a kill switch for just one app.
