This scored 371 and 590. Fire TV 4K Stick scored 252 and 433. So this is definitely the faster device.

Is it possible to get a Bluetooth keyboard fully working on these things? It recognizes the trackpad/mouse part of the keyboard and the directional keys, but doesn't recognize the character keys so I can't type anything. In RDP, all the keys do work.

I was able to pair & connect my Toshiba Bluetooth keyboard. It functions correctly.

I'm returning the 3 I bought. Only opened one. Try as I might, I simply couldn't get it to output 5.1 surround when streaming files over my home media network. Tried several apps (VLC, Plex, etc...) and settings. Streaming services (HBO Max, Disney+) did 5.1, but not my own files. Went back to my Roku ultra.

This is helpful. Does it no support passthrough on kodi?

Weird. Mine is a "Rii" China mini keyboard. Found a 2014 reference to some China keyboards were detected as gamepads in Android, hence no typing. Maybe it's still an issue in 2021.

Does anyone face occasional stuttering while playing videos in plex or YouTube? I get this issue at least once everyday. Playing the same stuff in fire stick doesn't cause any problems.

I haven't used YouTube, but have used Plex. I haven't noticed any freezing issues with Plex, but the autoplay feature does not work with HEVC videos.

I had the same problem. I narrowed down one problem, but I can't say if it was the same exact problem you had. AAC files do not work with this device. Any of my local media that had multi-channel AAC audio would be outputted as lower quality stereo sound. AC3 or EAC3 worked fine. I'm not planning on using this with an A/V receiver so I don't need multi channel AAC audio, but this is something I would not use for any multi channel audio setup. I'm surprised most people haven't noticed this problem, but I'm guessing most people don't test out their audio setup or realize they're listening to downgraded audio. I only realized this problem when I noticed how most of my files sounded so much quieter than before. When I switched my receiver to auto, I then realized it was receiving stereo and I was able to narrow down the problem.

As much as people want to criticize Fire Sticks or Rokus, they are less likely to have these annoying minor issues. These generic branded Android TV boxes often have issues that might or might not get fixed. The problem is that eventually almost all of them lose support at some point.

Thanks....yes, the files were AAC encoded 5.1. Good catch! Since I would be primarily using these with two audio receiver 7.1 home theater setups, the Onn is not the device for me.

1) Has anyone managed to put a version of Linux on this yet?

&

2) I can't seem to see the Google Play version of Accuradio when I search for it - does this have full access to the Google Play store, or are some things off limits for this box?

I can only answer #2: yes, some things are "off limits". Probably apps that weren't designed for the Android TV UI. Microsoft Remote Desktop was one of them. I was able to sideload Remote Desktop 8 (10 is way too slow).

Many non-Android TV apps can sideload and install without issues. Usability may be an issue, however. Particularly if the app was designed for use in Portrait mode.

Ok, if that is the case, is there any way we can use a browser with a bluetooth keyboard to instead go to the desktop version of the website, and listen to music that way? (accuradio.com, for example) I like it because you don't need a username, password, account or anything like that to use it, and there don't seem to be very many advertisements.

I wonder if the tivo stream 4k would work. $15 or less at most walmarts

I don't have a real browser installed on mine so I can't speak to personal experience on that one. It does look like most of the big web browsers do work on Android TV, so the answer is probably "yes".

I've just got the Downloader app which has a rudimentary browser, good enough for searching for apk files to sideload. Unless you prefer the web version, you could try sideloading the apk and give it a try. Sometimes they look and work perfectly fine. I have no issues with the Microsoft Remote Desktop 8 that I sideloaded, for example.
