ONN:
1) - Can program TV power button or AVR power button, but can't have them both associated to the power button on the remote at the same time. (The hell?)
2) + Can program the input button to work either the TV or the AVR.
3) + Has a cleaner Android TV Home screen (no buttons to the left of the channels like on the Tivo).
4) - Have to resort to OTG for storage.
5) - Certain Dolby decoders aren't enabled even though the hardware supports them.
6) / Judgment call: Remote doesn't feel as nice as the Tivo's.
7) / Can install LineageOS if that's your thing. Will probably be supported longer than the Tivo.
Tivo:
1) + Once associated to the TV and AVR the remote power button powers BOTH devices at once. Win!
2) - CAN'T program the input button to work on the AVR.
3) - Android TV Home screen is cluttered with buttons to the left of the channels, takes up 1/5 of the screen.
4) + Has open USB-C port on device.
5) + Has extra Dolby decoders enabled.
6) / Judgment call: Remote feels better in the hand, but has a useless numeric keypad.
7) / Ongoing support is probably limited. Active community over on https://www.tivocommuni
I was trying to chunk all my device remotes into the drawer and just use the streaming remote, can't happen with the current streamers. With the ONN I'll need the TV remote to turn the TV on. With the Tivo I'll need the AVR remote to change AVR inputs.

One more thing I'd like to know is if the Tivo remote can control TV channels (up/down/channel numbers) for OTA programming (antenna). The up/down buttons on the Onn don't do anything. I believe they are only programmed for use with specific apps and not for changing TV channels.

There is a way around this. Use the voice controls and say "set volume 75%" or whatever percent and it will do it for you.

The only issue I've found so far is the audio will cut out and the only way I can get it back is by rebooting the onn box. I haven't spent much time troubleshooting because it's only happened a few times in the month I've had it.
