Just commenting for those who don't know the difference, the QVO is the budget line that has approx half the total lifetime writes (TBW) of the main line, the EVO series. 1400ish vs 2800ish. Good for storage, bad for lots of data transfer

Just tried and this code didn't work for me. I tried both paypal and a credit card on a desktop browser.

looking forward to it sold for < $100 in the future. but then again, most folks are using cloud and SAAS so the demand may never drive the price down.

how does that translate in years, to an average user using it as an OS and storage?

I wish these were at most like $100 and $150 for the EVO. Until then, no good.

Although at the same time I'm still very leery of SSD's. They fail on me all the time and losing 4TB would really suck. My oldest surviving SSD is only 3 years old and currently showing errors. If you ask me, they all suck especially considering the premium price.
what are you doing to these things?! laugh out loud

i have around 15 SSD of different brands and have not seen any errors.

remember to back up your important data using the 3-2-1 plan. 3 times, 2 different kind of devices, and 1 offsite device.

Same but with 4x 8tb in raid 5
Then you have to get 10gbe or probably 25gbe/50gbe network equipment for the speed which is also expensive.

just for the HELL of it, nothing more.

lets let it at that and not get into an all out blow up discussion and derail the thread topic.

I don't think you're supposed to defrag a SSD. Trim/optimize sure.
