What's true is they always delay these kind of games while localizing for the west. What's also true is that it would be utterly ass-backwards to release a farm/dating sim without same sex marriages considering the demographic.

A lot of relationships would be much better off without these sort of games... instead of trying to focus on ensuring your virtual relationship in the game is going well, these people should rather focus on their actual relationships IRL.... just saying...

Not always delayed..... for example tales of arise and monster hunter stories are both released in all languages on the same date globally. I believe it is most likely due to the maker of Rune Factory 5 being a much smaller shop and they may be waiting to see the reception in Japan and Asia before releasing the English version...

IMO my kid was somewhat interested in this game but after seeing Tales of Arise the graphic quality of RF5 really pales in comparison. And this game is literally going to be released almost 1 year after the Japan release. There would likely be a lot other new and interesting games come out before the release date. Also the reaction of the Japan version was somewhat mixed...

I was in no way saying all localized games are delayed. It's the Rune Factory/Story of Season games that are pretty much always delayed.

Tales of Arise and this are completely different genres.

To clarify, the relationships is a very small component of this game. It's not a dating sim, it's a farming game with arpg elements. Relationships is like <5% of the game

Rune Factory is an excellent companion to the Harvest Moon games. They've been great for years, but I am not sure if they fell in anyway like Harvest Moon did to Stardew and Seasons.

Rune Factory usually has a heavy dungeon, tame monsters to run your farm element, and the games I have played were great and beautiful. It just tilts more towards the RPG element in good ways.

I just want to say, this is also on sale on the XSeed website, and more money will go directly to the developers if you buy it from there. Can't recommend this series enough for fans of farming sims like Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley.
